Playtesters wanted (3.5 or variant)
« on: November 10, 2011, 03:57:35 PM »
I'd like to see someone try out these rules: http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=67
Anyone up for it? I can write expansions to it if the type of magic you want isn't covered.

I might be up for it if others are. I really want to play a gish-like character with this magic system, so more players would be appropriate.

I'd be willing to test this. Are you going to do the writeups for more of the feats in the first post?

Looks pretty interesting. I'd have to look more into it, but at first glance it looks versatile enough.

It sounds very interesting. I'd be glad to playtest it with a bard, or perhaps a paladin.
"-Lady-Captain, we detect 20 hostile vessels against us,  and Erasmus Haarlock's Spear of Destiny ! What are your orders ?
-RAMMING SPEED !

final result : 6 slaughts vessels, 4 imperial frigates, 2 imperial cruisers destroyed. Haarlock sent into the warp. 0 losses. Flawless Victory.

I'm interested.  Anyone going to be running this?

Also, you need some method of doing telekinesis, transmutations, and summoning.

Definitely interested. I wanted to try those out.
A smile from ear to ear
3.5 is disappointingly flawed.

The summoning thing is limited to creature known per spell I think, which can apply similarly to Polymorph(or you could run with the PF variant instead, which works the same for whatever creature).

Telekinesis probably just needs to be split(currently its move object, combat maneuver or smashing, of which the general motion thing can be the prereq to one of the other two), and also revising weapon damage via TK(which breaks the restraint on damage by mass).

It just needs to have categories of:
-Squishy or low density objects take the same damage they inflict, and deals d4s per 25lbs.
-Hard and high density objects take the same damage they inflict and deals d6s per 25lbs
-Weapons deal d10s per 25lbs. You aren't swinging them in the normal way, you're hurling a whole bunch of them. If you want to wield a weapon telekinetically use the Move Object mode and your casting stat as effective strength.
Everything is edible. Just that there are things only edible once per lifetime.
It's a god-eat-god world.

Procrastination is the thief of time; Year after year it steals, till all are fled,
And to the mercies of a moment leaves; The vast concerns of an eternal scene.

I'm interested. Looks like we have enough people for 2 groups, we could run through the same campaign with different abilities
