In the dark places of the world
« on: November 11, 2011, 05:49:15 PM »
You are in a square room debating about a leaver on the wall. There are exits to the south (where you came from) and the East (a closed door)

"I may not know much about defensible buildings, but I think it might be considered ridiculous to put a trap activated by lever in such a place as this. Unless there are objections, I promote pulling the lever." With one hand not-quite on the handle, Greed looks to the group.

Kergis shrugs.  "It could do anything, good or bad.  I have no opinion."

"In my opinion, if it isn't broken, don't fix it- or in this case, if it doesn't clearly help us, it may as well be a hindrance. I think we should move on. If you want to pull it, go ahead. Just don't blame me if the floor electrifies or if the room fills with locusts. I'll be outside waiting to move further in, so be dears and let me know if anything interesting happens."

Kana moves out into the hallway.

"Pssssh, you're no fun. Fine, I'll pull it while we leave; but if there's something cool, I'm keeping it!" He gives another smile, still bleeding from minor wounds, and heads through the door to the East.

Dirk audibly sighs with relief, and heads down the tunnel where the earlier kobolds went in search of their "reward". He says "You know... with as much chaos and destruction as we've laid down in here, I think we're due for some serious trouble before long... and the burns from the last fight are still oozing on my skin... Should we try to find a relatively safe spot to lay low for a bit? Like... till tomorrow?"

"I've been nicked, but I've also got some healing.... don't mind laying low, but if we leave, they might refortify, and I do not relish the thought of them slapping a few more of those oozes into the front of this place...

"How well can we heal? If we're going to seek through this, we'd best do it now, and fast."

Kergis shrugs.  "I can only channel healing energy after damaging my opponents."

Kana checks herself over for a moment, then says, "I seem to be fairly well right now. I hate thinking that we need to hole-up after being here, what, half-an-hour or so? We've barely breached this place and haven't remotely found what we're here for. However, we came in blind, effectively. We knew this man made weapons, but who knew the weapons he was making involved occult experiments in breeding dragon-oozes?"

The tiefling dusts herself off a bit, the continues. "What we need is some intel. If we can get some information out of the next group of sentient creatures we come across, maybe we won't go about getting ourselves so bruised and bloodied."

Dirk shrugs. "I'm about out of healing, and what little I have left is probably better saved for emergencies.

I'll see what I can do about gathering some info, while this disguise holds up."
Dirk says, as he heads off to where the group of kobolds he was following went.

Greed places himself near the doorway. "Alright, but you be careful. if there's anything hostile, I'm right behind you..."

Kergis moves to the other side of the door from Greed, waiting to see what happens.

Dirk looks for obvious signs of where the two kobolds might have went.

The corridor just seems to loop back on itself. The kobolds seem to have vanished into thin air, you can't find a trace of their passage to the north or the south.

Dirk whispers back to his companions. "Can any of you tell where those buggers went?"

Mentally he says to Kana <want to take a look at this? Must be a secret door.>

Greed props himself before the last door. "No idea, but tell you what; if the hallways ends in a door, let's backtrack and check the second hallway from the gel-chest-room."

<<Secret door, you say? I wouldn't doubt it, given the construction of this place.>>

Kana sneaks up and attempts to find this hidden entrance.
