Maxing out CHA
« on: February 17, 2015, 02:13:25 PM »
I have 10 levels worth LA and HD to work with. I need the highest CHA possible, savage progression is out, and Evil allignment is out. Other than that, go nuts.

Which leaves you with Classes, a couple Paragons can help there.

Half-Fey Sylph

While it's not the highest Charisma bonus (you only get a +10), you end up casting spells as if you were a Sorcerer 4 levels higher than your HD.

Sylph: 3 HD, +5 LA
Half-Fey: +2 LA

Just to be clear, the LA and HD are drawing from the same pool of 10 and can be class levels?

Bearing in mind that undead don't necessarily have to be evil, you could play a necropolitan (Libris Mortis, p114), a +0 LA undead.  You could then add the evolved undead template (Libris Mortis, p99), which is unusual in that it can be applied to the same creature multiple times.  Each application of the template gives you +2 strength, +2 charisma, +1 natural armor, and +1 LA.

There's also some stuff here.  I never looked at level-adjusted races and templates in that project though.

No class levels. It's going to be a tristault game. Two class tracks, and a racial track. This is for the racial track. And I forgot the DM hates evolved undead. Thinks it's busted, and I tend to agree. My bad I forgot about that in the op

Wow that blows.  I've never seen that before.

1hd + 9 evolvement LAs , is still << standard Polymorph goodies.

Hmm... Half Giant 1 / Primordial Giant 0 / Magic-Blooded 0 / Half-Nymph 2 / Saint 2 / Draconic 1 / Lich 4?
+18 Charisma I think.

Pretty sure Saint and Lich wouldn't be allowed to work together.  "No evil" also means no Lich since a Lich must be evil.  For what it's worth, that would also limit Unseelie Fey.

Half-celestial could be used in place of the Lich and give more Cha as well.

An option instead of using half-giant is to go for Eneko from Secrets of Sarlona and then add Phrenic, Primordial Giant, etc onto it.

How are cohort LA treated?  The Petal from MM3 has LA+2 (cohort) but gets +8 Cha, among other things.

Half-nymph wouldn't work on half-giant (or eneko) because the template requires humanoid.

LM has a segment on Good-Aligned Liches.

But I missed Half-Nymph's limit (darn dragon templates).

Hm, searches for that reveals rules both in Libris Mortis 156 and Monsters of Faerun 90.  Could be interesting.  Worth giving a nod to in the Fun Finds thread.

Black Unicorn is "Always chaotic evil" though.  It's also LA+4 (cohort) just like the regular unicorn.  If cohort LA are treated the same as PC LA then it'd seem better to just go with the regular unicorn instead since Evil is not allowed.

always evil doesn't mean a creature must be evil. it just shows what the typical creature's alignment is. the black has ridiculously good stat bonuses vs. the white

True, it doesn't mean the creature has to be evil, but the story behind getting it away from evil is likely to cause headaches for the player and perhaps DM.

Depends on the story ;)

Beadle Bamford Aristocrat 1 got reincarnated into a black unicorn after getting killed by Sweeney Todd Swordsage 1

The DM will see through anything involving a unicorn as exactly what it is, a blatant grab for more cha. It'll get vetoed. He'll be more paranoid about me whiting out cha than anything. You do one little thing like get your cha into the forties and then add it to your AC six times, and a person gets all offended.
