[3.5] Best dwarf for a bard?
« on: March 04, 2015, 04:20:04 PM »
So I'm almost certainly going to be doing up a dwarf bard, but I was wondering what is the best version of the dwarf to do that. So far, I've found the gold dwarf, the desert dwarf, and the dream dwarf as ones that don't have a penalty to Charisma. Is that all of them? Is there a better dwarf to choose from? What would be the better among them to be? We have no idea what kind of campaign we're going to be doing next, but my character will be the personal bard/scribe to the prince's son (another PC). He will be in charge of making a journal of our adventures, and making sure the young prince looks good for the history's chronicles.

It's on page 12 of Oriental Adventures.  Sorry, I just assumed you were using my list as a reference.

Oh, no. I had looked up bard builds, and was looking at Chet's pdf.

Yup, those ones and Korobokuru are the only ones that don't have a Cha penalty.  The only way you'll be getting a bonus to Cha is with the Magic-Blooded/Spark template in Dragon 306, but I have a feeling that one will be off limits.

I'll likely be using the Unseelie Fey template. It'll cancel out the penalties and bonuses, but give me -2 Str and +2 Cha.
