Game in different language
« on: November 10, 2011, 11:04:39 AM »
Hello. I would like to ask: Obviously English is the language that should be used on this boards in general, but is it allowed to host a game in different language?
What I mean is - start a game ad/recruitment thread in English, but with a caveat that the game will be played in a different language and then, once the subforum will be created and the game starts, we will use the different language in there?

I don't see why not if your players are all cool with it.

Mind you, hadn't experimented with unicode on the boards yet so I'm not sure if it will display right.

The thing is: All my native online places where I could play RPG are either dead or dying. I don't have time (and I'm too lazy) to play IRL. I'm certain that there are some users here that come from my country.

Again, it doesn't matter, if you can get the language to display and the players to play, its all cool.

I'm pretty sure you have to upgrade the boards for it - it's not enabled by default.

Testing: 日本語 العربية

Well I can see that... ???

Kanji and Arabian letters? I see them.

Testing Polish letters: ł, ś, ń, ó...

I see them normally.

It's cool then, you just need those players!

Thank God BG is a cool and rational board. On Myth Weavers they allow to play games in diferent languages, but you can't recruit for them, even using English, you have to get your players elsewhere. -_-

Well, do note the host's content rules still apply, whatever the language.
Shouldn't matter unless you decided to write porn fics or something.
