Temporary Metamagic Feats and Spell Preperation
« on: May 06, 2013, 11:11:57 AM »
If a character had temporary access to a Metamagic feat, then prepared spells with the feat, am I right to assume the spellcaster could cast those spells even after losing the Metamagic Feat?

I am Theorycrafting a Half-Elf Witch with the Paragon Surge spell, whom would for example prepare half her spells in one sitting with one of them as Paragon Surge, cast paragon Surge to get Quicken Spell, and prepare the rest with Quicken applied. This trick saves a few feats which would normally be Metamagic all for the cost of a 3rd level spell or a few. Give the character Extend Spell, and you could use the feat to get Persistent Spell and cast a Persistent Paragon Surge to use Item Creation Feats or other feats that require large quantities of time.
