Returning to the inn, Enar shares the key points of what they gathered with the other side of the team:

The undead's attacks have been made at regular intervals of about two days, moving closer and closer to this city. It they keep this rhytm, they'll attack one more area before assaulting this very place. The place of the next attack however should be reachable in one day if we ride the horses, and we'll still have another day to evacuate any locals and find a good observation position to check out exactly what we're facing.

Still that's just a plan I've made with our side of the information. Have you managed to learn anything useful from the survivor?

Aval is sulking in the inn when you get there;

"Well, I'm glad you had a productive afternoon. The survivor is quite mad, I'm afraid. Keeps ranting about "The Eyes of The Dracolich" and making strange sounds. I wonder what could have done this too him. Couldn't get anything of real use out of him. "

"A Dracolich? I hope that's mistaken rambling."

"Don't we all. Not much we can do if it is. But his madness seemed odd to me - there might be more behind it than simple trauma.

But your plan seems good, Enar, given what we know. If we were less pressed for time, I would suggest looking at one of the attack sites, but we have a deadline which would not be amenable to that. Is there anything else your group found out which might come in handy? Or should we turn in, and head out in them morning?"

"No time to waste, we should head out tonight. We should have time to survey the land for any defensible positions by tomorrow afternoon if we head out now."

Weapons check, armor check, snacks check... I call dibs in the white horse!

Enar moves towards the stables, takes care of whatever last minute details are needed and rides out into the sunset.

Hopefully the rest of the party is following.

*Sighs* Enar is being a little rambunctious again.
"Well, I'm already packed and we have mounts. Shall we follow?"

"I was hoping to have a hot dinner. Bah."

Aval heads gathers up his stuff, and follows out after the others.

The Iron Route, the main road along the north side of the Moonsea runs all the way from Zhentil Keep to Phlan and beyond.  Travel along it is swift and generally safe, at least as far as it can be expected to be in the violent and unpredicatable Moonsea region.  With the sun still up above gathering storm clouds you find yourself out of Phlan and well on your way West when you chance to come across a wagon pulled to the side of the road with a broken axle.  A young human boy tends a campfire while a man in merchant clothing digs in the back of the wagon.

They haven't noticed you yet.
