Off Topic Fun / Re: Minivan isn't doing well.

The problem is the location of the head gasket requires the motor to be pulled out just to get to it.  The cost for the labor (and replacement part) is around $1400 just to replace a part that probably costs no more than $100.

My current vehicle (a Ford 2001 Windstar, 200k+ miles) currently has a problem with the head gasket (I think that's what I heard).  All I know is the oil is leaking into the coolant.  Because of how the vehicle is made, the engine has to be taken out to fix the problem, which is going to be expensive.  Now I am not TOO worried about it because a solution usually arises eventually, but my wife is more worried because she is the one that uses the vehicle the most (to get to work and back) and it's used to pick up my son who lives a good 30+ minute drive out (then 30+ back).  What to do...

D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder / Character with a split personality
« on: April 24, 2015, 01:09:31 AM »
Okay, I have done this time and again in a lot of my campaigns:
A cute innocent girl with a psychotic dark side.

I've had my friends I game with even help me with making some of them.  This time I want to see ideas; what would you do? How would you do it?  Give me feats, traits, flaws, classes, etc be they official content, third party content, or homebrew.  I want to see YOUR ideas (its always good to look at a new perspective).

Also, I am looking to create something that allows the PCs and NPCs to VISIBLY see the change in personality.  A flaw or a trait or something.  Let's see what you got!

Felimancer:  Needs at least one more restriction.  Feels a little too much like an easy-to-get class.  You said they were followers of Mrrow, right?
Masseuse:  Their offensive power is pretty much nerfed.  Why not give it a little extra something in return?  I mean the class is great (I'd play it in a more role-play heavy campaign), but you think massaging someone would be able to get them to talk.  Like a Charm and/or Suggestion spell, you can talk to some of your clients and because they are so relaxed and SO into the massage they are getting they might accidentally let slip some information.  Kind of like that Calm Emotions ability "Deep Tissue Massage."  I mean Staggered and Stunned are good options only if you plan of fighting them after you are done.
Sisters of the Sphinx: Strange question: Why is intimidate not a class skill?  It seems like something crucial to this class.
Spooky Kitty: Also a class based on intimidation that could use the intimidate skill.
Sneaky Kitty: I was tired when I rated it.  I meant 8.
Cute Kitty: is there a way to beat the Innocence aura?  it seems a little OP.  I mean it might be better if you have it so that someone of sufficiently higher caster level can detect it (kind of like how a skilled enough caster can undo a permanency spell).

For Lazy Kitty on the ability Power nap you have:

(the spell in not visible in any way so as not to give you away)

When it should say:

(the spell is not visible in any way so as not to give you away)

In the "Playing a Lazy Kitty" section
They have no idea how difficult it is to live with someone pretending to be a pet and leading a double life.

You forgot the "o" in "to"

In the "Athenaeum Cat" where it should say "ATHENAEUM CAT IN THE WORLD" it says "KEYBOARD CATS IN THE WORLD"

So far I see:
Crazy Cat Lady: 10 levels, but only 8 levels with "+1 level divine spellcasting class."  Is it meant to be this way?.
Adding more as I read.
Edit:
Professional Mouser is missing 3 "+1 level divine spellcasting class."  I am guessing this was to make the classes more balanced?

For Sisters of the Sphinx "Riddle of the Sphinx" is missing it's prerequisites and benefits.  Also your sample kitty is kinda missing description.

Tuff Kitty: "You Picked The Wrong Alley" is missing it's prerequisites and benefits.  Also your sample kitty is kinda missing description.

Spooky Kitty: "Master of the Stink Eye" is missing it's prerequisites and benefits.  Also your sample kitty is kinda missing description.

Sneaky Kitty: "Dibs" is missing it's prerequisites and benefits.  Also your sample kitty is kinda missing description.

So far the Stygian Blade class has the feel of a caster-killer class (only focusing on psionic casters).  I like the feel of it so far and might even use it for a VERY powerful character in one of my campaigns, but I'd like to see more first of what you plan to do with it.

I like it!  I rated the Elder Oil Elemental and DEFINITELY plan to use it in my current campaign.  :D

Well I figured they have to be that high to seal away a god, or are there spells in the druid's section that do that? (Never played a druid)

I'm thinking less god and more mid-high level demon.  Nexxus was a smoke monster if memory serves, so anything incorporeal or even gaseous (an evil air elemental) might fit the bill.
He obviously feeds off of destruction and apparently pollution.  When the machine dies down he actually creates a corporeal form for himself.  A Destruction Elemental (has anyone made that yet?)?

Ooooh the Dad's Waffle looks delicious.  One more you say?  I think I can (and have already found) that burger for you.  It's called the Land, Air, and Sea Burger.

I was watching Ferngully with my wife and son and my wife and I were discussing different factors in the movie.
We both agreed that:
  • Hexxus is a deity that doesn't need followers, but cannot be killed, only sealed away.
  • Magi is at least a level 30 if not 40 druid.
  • Magi's spell near the end was an epic spell that used her (Magi) as the material component.
  • By the end of the movie Crysta is at least a level 20 Druid.
Anyone else have any ideas?

I feel like a total douchebag.

OK, some context: a burger place near my apartment has advertises free refills. I... kinda assumed that this applied as long as you had the mug.

Long story short, an employee informed me today that that wasn't how it worked, but let it slide that once because I hadn't known. The problem is, I've done this the last six times I was there (including today), so I effectively owe the place $14.16.

They don't actually know that I owe that much; in fact, as long as I don't do it again, I doubt they'll ever find out. If you look at raw economics, I actually owe more like two bucks (soda is really cheap) - however, I'm wondering if I should be worried/feel bad about this.
EMPLOYEES cannot do that.  Only a manager can tell you that due to the fact that employees don't know the rules as well as the managers.  If you would have reported that employee, you could have made a complaint along lines of "harassment," effectively getting the employee in trouble or fired.  I tell you this because at one point in my life I worked fast food for 9 years.  Only a manager can tell you the rules or ask you to leave.
