I'm definitely NOT a hippie. Nor i'll ever be one. The last 4 days proved this. This trip... I don't want to thank the planet for every two steps i take. I want to finish my hike and drink beer on the campfire, not meditate.

Goddamn.

This sums up my feelings:

"All the pride and pleasure of the world, mirrored in the dull consciousness of a fool, are poor indeed compared with the imagination of Cervantes writing his Don Quixote in a miserable prison" - Schopenhauer, Aphorisms: The Wisdom of Life

As if working ~60 hours per week wasn't enough, I have to do several hours of BS "cultural competency" training... on my own fucking time... and you have to click some BS like every 10 seconds... and take quizzes... So I can't just let it run in the background...  :shakefist :banghead :fu

Boss is done, got called in early to cover a no show on first. Got interviewed by HR, who has temporarily assumed control while another rep from HR head hunts some new recruits. She had questions, and my answers were blunt. Hopefully not too blunt. Also learned file cabinet with everyones personnel files was left unlocked for 2 days. She wasn't happy about that. She asked who I would promote and I said no one. None of us trust, understand or like one another, and if you promote from here there will be rebellion and revenge attempts no matter who it is. I did at least try to be helpful and point out stuff she'd need to know.

My other hip will be getting replaced at some point ** next year. **

Ouch, can you make it that far and still be adequately mobile?

**

I had one very specifically Personal vote in this election.
Once upon a time ...  :tongue ... I parked my car, did my business.
Came back to car to go to work, but car was parked in.
Option 1 call tow truck on one or both dudes.
Option 2 work my way out, mostly to save the time.
Chose #2.  Owner of said car was walking by at that moment.
Certainly wasn't going to volunteer to move his car for me, via his personality, while obviously at fault for the park in.
Dude called the cops ... and was an off duty cop.
Parking enforcement dude responds to "protect" him from nothing.
Cop shows 40 minutes later, I'm way late for work.
Cop makes face at stupid Cop.
I say I tried to save the guy the $100 tow.
Cop makes more face at stupid Cop.
"Has" to write the $80+ ticket on me, showily very annoyed at stupid Cop.
$36 insurance bill, which they paid with special deal (because it was so stupid).

Meanwhile, I asked the Cop I know about stupid Cop, yeah he had heard (makes face) about my incident.
Within the year I had an unrelated incident not my fault, but insurance didn't care and jacked my rates.

15+ years later retired stupid Cop runs for Judge.
Local F.O.P. endorses the other guy who is NOT a cop.
Some cops go on live radio to publicly endorse the Not Cop.
Not Cop wins !!!!!!! !!!!!!! !!!!!!!
I was holding my breath for real about the results.
Not Cop thanks his cop buddies publicly.

I know stupid Cop spent more on his campaign than the parked in ticket incident cost me.
What goes around comes around dirtbag stupid Cop, even your co-workers didn't like you at all.
 :)

Yeah,it's just the Avascular Necrosis (AVN or osteonecrosis) that also took out my other hip.  The reason for the wait is that my current medicare plan will no longer be available next year.

Today was my day off, so you know whats coming...

I wake up a 8 am or so with horrible acid reflux, down a few shots of magnesium and went back to bed. I get awoken by my boss who tells me R_ has once again failed to report for work and can I come in. I has doctors appointments so I tell her I can make it in when they're done. Oh, and can you come in 3 hours early wednesday too.

Car battery is dead. I get jumped, go to doc, and they tell me my appointment is not in system, but they need a few tubes of blood from me before I can see doc, who they are rescheduling. It's 3 PM. I still havent eaten.

I get to work and all is well till about 8 pm when I get a call to take someone on a drug test. I explain I'm alone and they take him instead. They come back a little before 9, and the guy who's a supervisor tells me to page another supervisor to meet him at the main lobby. And then I see the guy they took for testing. I've dealt with him constantly since he was hired. Batshit crazy. I absolutely know this is going to end bad. Motherfucker acts like he's possessed by the ghost of a squirrel who died from an overdose of meth.

They park at the lobby which is kind of far away, but it looks kind of like there's a scuffle. Then one figure grabs the other and prevents it from leaping into the pond. As I reach to call the cops, 2 patrol cars and an ambulance blow past me. Turns out he threatened self harm because he was scared of losing his job. I'm not sure what the logical thought process is there. "I'm terrified of being fired, let me threaten suicide and virtually ensure it happens."

Fortunately for me I kept Officer Peanut in reserve just in case the shitstorm spread our way.

When you're at that point you kind of lose your sense of logic. I've been there twice once during high school and once during the divorce.

Most of the time, a dead battery will work just fine after say 15 minutes of drive time charge up.

I can confirm, once almost ran my ex off the road. I don't remember most of that night, but I'm a much more stable person in the decade since.

I can confirm people go batshit crazy over nothing too.

Pretty much every unintentional suicide using intentional attempt makes a great example. They make the attempt to get attention but screw things up and actually die in the process. Sucks for the family if they realize it too so it's kind of an unwritten policy not to mention any suspicions.

I thought this was in response to the dead car battery, and I was trying to figure out how the fuck they managed that.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

The former shift supervisor lady we rehired months ago who was supposed to be a moderating influence on the peeper? Boss walked in on him giving her a neck massage.

Someone ripped a fire alarm out of the wall today.

I was sitting in post and I hear yelling. "YOUR GONNA GET YOURS MOTHERFUCKER! YOUR TIME IS COMING" So I look around thinking "wtf" and see one of the clients employees walking by. He flashes me the peace sign, and he's close enough I finally notice he's wearing a mic and headset. Which doesn't entirely set my mind at ease. I mean at least he's not yelling at me , but still...
