Restarting Exiled
« on: November 07, 2011, 02:50:24 PM »
I'm going to restart my Exiled PbP. I'll reserve PC slots for the original players first, but if they don't all check in within a week, I'll open it up to new people to replace them. I was using a rather extensive set of houserules, which overlapped some (but not completely) with my Fall of Pun-Pun game.

I apologize for letting this stall for so long to the original PCs, but real life sometimes gets in the way of my online fun. ;) I hope you understand, and are ready to resume our adventure.
I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.

I'm still interested in playing a character that is more-or-less the same as the one I had, although I'll have to hunt down his character sheet.

I just verified that I still had my sheet in MW. Though I need to make sure I have the copy of PW we were using, I'm pretty sure it was the pathfinder version.

I do have a pdf of the Beta Psi. War I was using for my character. So i'm good to go, I just need to verify where everything on my sheet came from, which can wait until we look pretty sure we are re-starting.

I'm interested if there's a space, to play a factotum similar to the one I posted over on the... what do we call it now?  It's not the min/max board because it's all min/max board!  Whatever.

Let's call it the Archive, if we want to sound nerdy.  The Spawn of 339 also seems fitting, as it was originally made while 339 was in it's death throes.

Well fark... you can't view profiles on the old boards (339spawn?  ;D )... So I have no idea how long it had been since Nick and endgamecutter had been active on there... They were PCs in the original version of this, but haven't registered on this board yet (or if they did, they chose a different screen name). So I don't really have much of a way to track them down... if they don't just see this and respond. I guess we'll just wait and see.

Got a link? Hmm... I'll have to decide how the factotum's SLAs would interact with the house rules, since "traditional" spellcasting is impossible without a special "token"... and Exiles definitely won't have one of those starting out (and might never get one, realistically).

I'm sure we can work something out, though. I'm going to see if the original PCs all want in, and if they do we'll just go with them. If not, you'll get dips on the first open slot.

Edit: Never mind. Question answered below.  :P

I've got Nick on AIM. I can give him a poke whenever he comes online, if you'd like.

However we need to do it. If you need to remake the house rules or if we need to rebuild characters I'm fine with that.

Edit: So we were allowing all the Tome feats? Or just certain ones? I forgot... I'll go dig through the house rules thread and OOC discussion and see if I can see an answer...

Here's the link.  We could treat it as "racial" spellcasting since they're SLAs, or we could change them to PLAs and I wouldn't get 0th-level ones.

The CC dip is entirely for the devotion feats, I wouldn't be using the spells at all (they're irrelevant to the build, and I'd probably have a 10 Wisdom so I couldn't even cast the first-level spells).

Your house rules
Aha! I looked in there, but somehow missed that.  :o OK... so we have an answer. It's a specific list of Tome/homebrew feats we were allowing.  8)

I'm annoyed because I can't just quote my old character sheet and paste it, formatting and all.  Luckily I have a character on Myth-Weavers using my preformatted posting (I prefer it to MW sheets), so I've got that at least.

Can you hit edit? Or is that not possible because it was a locked thread? You could ask a mod to unlock it or copy it for you.

Edit: For Nanshork. You should be able to hit "modify" and copy it, but just in case:

The modify button doesn't show up at all, I wonder why you can do it but I can't.  Either way, thank you for saving me the effort of doing that by hand.

Hey Phaedrus... I think I'm going to withdraw my interest.  As much as I'd love to play (and play that character), I have a lot on my plate and I don't know anything about Tome, so I'm concerned about my system fluency for this game.  I don't really have the time to put into it to familiarize myself to the point where I'd be comfortable.

Sorry. :/

No problem. We're actually not using many Tome rules at all. Just a few specific feats. However, like I said it does have a pretty extensive set of house rules, the most radical of which are no doubt the magic item rules.  So I can understand not wanting to dig into those. If you change your mind, it isn't really as bad as it 1st seems, though.

I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay in game now. I was told yesterday that Dec. 31 will be my last day working here. So things will be up in the air for me until I have a new job lined up and I don't know if I'll have to ability to get here from work at whatever new job I get.
