"This is bullshit, and I'm going to tell you why!"

Post any out of character discussion here.

I can't decide on my last skill.  I'm a sneaky stabbity pact of the blade warlock and this is what I'm working with.

Skills: Deception, Intimidation, Stealth, (one from: arcana, history, investigation, nature, or religion)

Thoughts?

I have history and religion. Maybe investigation too (but you can never have enough of that.)

Being a follower of Elinar, I am going with my bard spells being divine in nature, either a gift or divinely inspired. Seems to fit better with my racial connection to her as an Illyn than having a random elemental bounded to me.

For what it's worth, not all arcane casters are Magebound. There are gnome wizards, for instance. Bards can be arcane casters, but Speakers of Harmony are often divinely inspired (there might be a bard-themed domain available for clerics, for instance, but for now a Bard whose spells are flavored as being divine sourced is fine as well).

You got it. If you'd prefer keeping discussion in the interest thread or through PM, that's fine too.

Why is it that both people who rolled for point buy got a 1?

Edit: Double damn, I needed at least a 2 for the stats I want.

I'm just going to do away with the random roll. Everyone gets the 30 point buy. Wheeeeeee!

Unnecessary. In almost all of the possible outcomes between Nanshork and myself, I'm betting that you would have seen no problem and we would have gone by the rolls. I'm a stickler for fairness, and only rejecting unfavorable outcomes of dice rolls is hardly fair. And besides, a game of chance is only fun if there is an element of danger. And if strategy and teamwork are the dishes of d&d, chance is the spice. Knowing that we will be rescued when the dice turn against us takes that vital element of danger away.

That said, I was only going to use 27 PB instead of the 28 I rolled, because I hate having an odd stat, so I'll donate that unneeded point to Nanshork to get him the point he needs. Unless he really wants 30 PB and having an odd stat. Which I know will torment him now that I've mentioned it. :P

A) I took the risk and rolled, I can live with that.  Just let me know what's going on.

B) Yes, odd stats drive me crazy.   :P  I've got a 15 that I don't know what to do with...

For what it's worth, by choosing to roll you also unintentionally signed on for extra strings-attached benefits.  :smirk

I'll accept as long as SDK can donate me the extra point he doesn't want.   :P

I need some advice for my assassin-esque bladelock.

I can't decide if I want to take Moderately Armored (I'd adjust my point buy to end with an even Cha and a Str of 18 plus moderate armor proficiency) of just take a stat boost to bump up my Charisma, or take something else entirely.  Edit: Like War Caster

Thoughts?

Edit 2: As a strength based bladelock, is taking a level of fighter for the Great Weapon Fighting Style worth losing a second attack until next level?
