Personal Details
Reid Holtz was born on the ISS Thase but always wanted something different. He wanted to be on a planet, with atmosphere and room to get away from everyone around him. So once he turned 18 he took a ride to Vapre to be a colonist. Soon after he arrived, there was a local uprising against the local lord, Knight Atticus Delaney Prescott, because of his blatant hoarding of good from the starport. Reid took part in the uprising and the colonists were able to get some of the goods for themselves. A few years later, Reid learned that Knight Prescott was embezzling money and used that knowledge to blackmail him. Reid tried to gain specialist training to help his work with the colony but was unable to complete the training (and he suspects that Knight Prescott is to blame). He then was harassed by Knight Prescott's thugs and his life was ruined, he had to leave Vapre in shame.
In order to get away from it all he joined the Scouts as a courier. He quickly rose in the ranks, multiple times delivering high priority packages without incident and even delivered an important message from the Imperium. He also spent a lot of time at the fringes of known space and got to know a Hiever he knows as Timur. Then when he was 48, Reid learned that his mother had died, he had kept up correspondence with her through all the years since he left home. In response he withdrew from his normal routes and spent some time among the Droyne, making friends with one named Pepirs. When he returned to Human space he started a relationship with a fellow Scout but that went very badly. At the end of his career Reid lost an arm trying to defend a large shipment of mail canisters and is still bitter that the Scouts let him go without a pension after 32 years of service.
Deciding that the attack on his mail canister shipment was due to the Solomani Rim War, Reid joined the Marines (or at least tried to). However, due to his age they did not accept him and he was drafted into the Army instead. Determined to show the Marines, as well as the damn Scouts who refused to give him a pension, Reid (now Holtz in proper military fashion) worked hard to prove himself. He went to sniper school and became the odd-job man for his unit despite his support role. He also got to know a doctor specializing in cybernetics, wanting to improve the performance of his already youthful body. Unexpectedly, Holtz displayed great heroism in a battle with the Solomani and gained a commission, rising to a social status that he never dreamed possible. He worked even harder, fighting in brutal ground wars and being given more difficult special assignments. He also served in a peacekeeping mission. Towards the end of his career he developed a relationship with Dr. Hayden and they eventually got married. Once the Solomani Rim War ended Holtz got tired of service and decided to retire.

Personal Details
