Maybe once you get your distraction but at the moment its pretty heavily guarded by guys who actually look like they know what they are doing.

In case this wasn't clear, Dirk is casting Invisibility on Greed, but disguising it as Hold Person (in case anyone is paying attention and has Spellcraft) via False Theurgy.

I'm going to give Flay/Greed a bit of time to chime in before continuing...

Since Dirk only has one stance, can we assume he started out in it? I always forget about entering them...

So, wrote a post, and then hit a small snag. If I were to charge, does the melee attack post charge (or conducted during Charging Minotaur) qualify to initiate a grapple? It makes sense in my head, and I think the rules allow for it, but I'm checking.

Cause shit needs to go down in a big way, and I forgot how much I loved this character.
I'm here and ready to keep confusing the hell out of everyone I meet.

Fairly sure it does qualify. Grapple attempts just require an attack roll (you can do them several times in a full attack after all)

I think officially this manuever is called a Flying Tackle when initiated in this way.  :D

Oh and Flay don't forget about your dragon in Monster Masters. Oslecamo was about to skip you. :P

So okay, confirming, i was under the impression you needed to start a grapple by hitting with a melee attack, then succeeding with an unarmed touch, then the opposed grapple. If this is true..... then I hope dirk has a way of holding her in place, cause sure as hell I'm gonna have trouble with that armor.

You gotta love it when some of the top posters on an optimisation focused board don't know how grapple works properly... says something about the grapple rules at least.

Anyway, according to the SRD its
1. Attack of Opportunity (unless you have the feat)
2. Melee Touch attack
3. Free action opposed grapple check

That said I am sure you can also do it with a normal unarmed attack... or was that touch spells?

I don't think you can (unless you have the Improved Grab special ability, or Scorpion's Grasp feat). You're thinking of touch spells.

Fantastic! My optimization is rusty, for now (need to amend that before I start pumping out some of my homebrew). Also grappling is traditionally noted for suck, so that could have something to do with it...

If you optimize for it, it can work pretty well... until the enemies start getting FoM. I've played a lot of grapple specialists, actually (but they all could do other things, of course).

I was hoping you could get her before your invisibility wore off, and so avoid the AoO. :P
