Leonel spits out a bit of blood at the one who attacked him and swung up the back end of the axe to knock him off his balance.

"Get the... hell... off me!!!"

He pushed forward relentlessly and brought the axe down hard in an overhead swing.

The only time I'd find this either confusing or annoying is when you crit and potentially do -10 damage? I dunno. Depends on how you do crits. Some rule just multiplying what your normal roll (1d4-5= 1x2 crit= 2 dmg) or the other way which still gets you 1 damage as if you hadn't crit :p

My personal ruling on that is that you apply 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4th your penalty instead of the full penalty, as per your crit.  So -5 on a x2 is -2.

If he can then cool. Some of the magic stuff came already identified so I simply assumed Drossel gave us what he knew and the rest is unknown or forgotten by him. Yanno, degrading mental abilities and all. Feeding him one of us may jog his memory tho  :plotting

and 2) it gives Wynstan a chance to earn a fair share  ;)

Actually you have your no-longer-mentally-present allies with you.  But they are little more than not-yet-hungry zombies at this point who have been shambling behind you guys mindlessly.

And of course, left unattended, they will eventually get hungry.

I have to double check, I think the next town is Roanoke or something.  And there are smaller villages a bit out of the way.  I'll get back to you on that.

Oh, Eiji, there's some class specific gear for me (like my weapon upgrade).  Do you want me to send it to you/make a wishlist in my post/not do anything and hope I get cool stuff as the game goes on?

Wishlist away.  It makes making treasure lists easier for me if I know at least in general what you guys seek.

Disgaea 5
That's great! I loved that series though... I don't think I'll ever have time for another Disgaea. Time tends to get warped when you get too close to one of them and then that's how black holes are formed.  :sobbing Unless I can convince myself not to try to get everything down to perfection until a new game pries my attention off of it.

So far it seems I'll just borrow the console and Zelda off a friend or rent them and then forget about the Switch. It'll probably hinge on what they'll do with the Fire Emblem franchise.
The Switch gives me a better impression than everything they released after the cube. But that's me.

I have Disgaea 5 on PS4.  I am pleased with it.  They always seem to stumble in various different ways, unable to recapture the original's magic.  Specifically with D2 which tried too hard.  But 5 feels pretty nice.  It's strange.  On paper, the characters are annoying and some of them started out such, but they grow on you quick.  The only complains I have is that the MC's plotline spins his tires on his plot for far too long (I get it, he's got a dark side, we don't need the Nth reminder it exists), but the second half of the game has some enjoyable character focused chapters which I think worked well.

Plus, SUPER OLYMIPAAAAAAAA!

So, can I take the whatever-the-hell-it-is cape? +19 intimidate checks in shadowy illumination... and I can make it dark. :D

Go forth and split ye loot.  Now you can has Batman cloak.  The cloak doesn't carry the armor benefits, but it gives you mostly featherfall.

It can be.  I remember it exists, though I'll need to refresh my knowledge on it.

Did you pick up Psionic Dream or something?  Is that what you're remembering?

Click.  Thou has obtained LOOT!

Quote from: LOOT
This is after Drosselmeyer removes a few items he claims are his.  If you wish to dispute, you can take it up with him.  It doesn't appear to be very much.

17,000 gp in various material goods (4250 gp each, or 3400 gp if you share with the newcomer Wystan).

Scroll of Regeneration

5x Potions of Cure Light Wounds

Potion of Remove Disease

An Unmarked Potion, requires identification.    It's clear, bubbly, and smells vaguely of apple and an sweet but artifical chemical.

4x Vials of Quintessence, enough to coat a Tiny object.  There is not enough quintessence here to give the doctor any problem.

A pack of two mysterious pills, requires identification.  It's pale blue and purple, and radiates strong psychoportation.

A small black box.  Within is a still fresh, still pale and pupilless set of eyes.  They twitch with the remains of their muscles glancing this way and that.  This item needs identification, or someone to test it out.  The eyes can also be identified with a Knowledge Dungeoneering check.

A Note in a Bottle.  It came up with a lot of half written and scribbled out letters, all which seem to be letters of apology to Lady Marlowe, never finished.

An ioun torch and an ioun shade, a matching pair!

Sovereign Glue (only 1 ounce remains).

Some dice, carved from bone.  They aren't magical or anything, they might have been a lucky charm.

A Belt of HealingMIC.

Some high grade magicite.  Keep it with you, a proper craftsman can upgrade you a free +1 weapon.

A Blood Pin Hilt not connected to anything.

A Nighthide Cape, otherwise not magical.  It has one hell of a collar though.

Eyes of the Dwarf.

6x Masterwork Knives, each shaped a bit different and apparently specialized for medical tasks.

A stone knife, which has the Accursed Mark on it.  It requires identification.

A map which seems to no known location you know.  It has a city on it, and some... undefined blobs marked with nonsense scribbles and waves.

And a lifetime supply of finger bones.  Why are through so many bones in this vault?

At long last, the safe is expended.  As the party goes along looking through their newfound loot, Drosselmeyer will move near Wystan.

"Human.  I heard you were looking for the Marlowes.  Know that while the Baron is dead I am uncertain of the fate of the female.  The Lady took her leave into the shroud, I know not where.  I figure that may be of some use to you.

....as for me, I will need to prepare for a journey of my own.  I have a task to perform."

Drosselmeyer waddled back, eyes looking past everyone with a thousand yard gaze and mind deep in thought.  "Not a key, the combination.  I remember it, because it is my combination." he muttered, taking a look at the safe and beginning the process of unlocking it.

"Baron Manus Marlowe is dead.  I know this, for I was the one who consumed him.  It is what I first awakened to in realization of what was occurring, and the mere bestial need to feed fading for a much more ravenous hunger for knowledge.  Through the baron's manipulations and arcane sciences me and my kin were able to consume some element of... humanity... from the baron's distorted corpse.  As heir to his knowledge I recall why.  It was only natural that in order to save his wife's arm, he would have to learn the art of reconnecting and regrowing nerves."

Click.  The safe opened, and opened into a suspicious and unnatural black void which the rat dipped into and began drawing items forth.  "And so it was that mere test rats were able to take his own nerve cultures and make them our own.  At least, that's how I remember it.  The memory is incomplete at best, and temporary.  Everyone's minds are fading.  New food is needed if we plan to be anything more than animals.  It is terrifying.  And for some reason, I have resisted the degradation.  Some of my brothers are already beasts again.

It is for that reason I request you turn a blind eye.  Let my kin depart for another place in peace.  They will find some niche in the world, I am certain."

You have obtained LOOT!  (Loot forthcoming, running to work.)  In addition to the treasures within, you have an extradimensional safe.  Treat it as a particularly heavy and unwieldy Bag of Holding I.  No good for just walking around with, but not bad if you have some place to store it.

That miserable aberrant actually struck him, but the damage was glancing.  The sting of impact was ignored as he pushed his attacker off with his boot and tossed aside his firearm in favor for a firm grip on his axe.

The best way to deal with monsters... is to be the bigger monster.  Lionel would have no mercy for these subhumans.

A fight has broken out and the gunfire begins, a thunderous chaotic cacophony which briefly lights up the night with the muzzle flashes.  One goes down before he even gets to them, and he quickly draws his gun on another coming into view.

Discharging his handgun packs a powerful punch, but it sounds like that's a good many of these... things.  (How many actually?)  He'll grip his axe in his other hand ready to swing it at the nearest punk who gets too close.

Just a heads up, on Wednesday I'll be going on vacation.  I'll have computer access again on the 19th/20th.  Wystan can be NPC'd during that time so as to not slow things down further unnecessarily.

Thanks for the heads up.  I'll see if I can get you something to reply to before then.  Any particular hidden agendas you have in mind in the meantime?  You can PM me if it's a secret.

And speaking of people going afk.... where the heck is Psysama again?

Lionel had a terrible feeling.  The smell was overwhelming, but his other senses still felt like someone was watching him.  His hands instinctively gripped his gun and axe alike, crouching down.

"Who's there!?"

Totemist , and Incarnate (+wis) in Magic Of Incarnum

3.0e Psychokinesis-ist ... (different enough to keep around, though weaker than 3.5 psi)

Wasn't there a fairly recent errata of a Con Caster in PF, and thread around here?
iirc the "E"rrata was very aggressive, removing said offender from the annals of history.

The PF Scarred Witch Doctor used to be Con based and they stealth removed it.  The discussion (at least the only one I know about) about that was here.

They errata'd it?  Damn you Paizooooo!!!!
