Title: Complete Psionic Errata (WIP)

Page 7 - Ardent Powers Known [Clarification]
Temporary or magical/psionic boosts to your manifester level (such as the Overchannel Feat) do not count towards your manifester when determining what powers you are eligible to learn. Feats such as Practiced Manifester, which provide a blanket and constant increase regardless of circumstances, do count for this purpose. For example, a Human Ardent 2/Fighter 4 who takes his 7th level in Ardent would be able to learn only one 2nd level power from his mantles even if he had taken Overchannel as his 6th level feat. However, if his 6th level feat was Practiced Manifester instead, he would be able to learn 4th level powers from his mantle.

Magic items count as temporary boosts unless the item provides the effect permanently after being used (for example, an orange ioun stone does not count because the effect only functions while the stone is being "worn", for what measure you can wear an ioun stone.)

Pages 7 & 8 - Assume Psionic Mantles [Addition]
At the end of the second paragraph on page 8, add "In spite of being a minor act of the appropriate alignment, manifesting Good, Evil, Lawful, or Chaotic powers cannot result in an alignment shift."

Page 9 - Divine Mind Power Points per Day [Revision]
Delete and replace the last sentence of the paragraph with the following, "Despite not being able to manifest powers at 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th levels, a divine mind still gains bonus power points for those levels as normal."

Pages 9 & 10 - Divine Mind Powers Known [Revision]
At the beginning of the first paragraph on page 10, delete and replace the first two sentences with the following, "A divine mind's manifester level is equal to his class level, despite not being able to manifest powers at 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th levels."

Page 10 - Psychic Aura [Clarification]
While a careful reading will reveal the intent, the three auras presented in this ability are not the only auras a divine mind can emit. Other auras are determined by what mantles the divine mind taps, as displayed under the Mantle class feature in the next column.

Page 12 - Divine Grace [Revision]
The divine mind's Divine Grace class feature is based on the divine mind's Wisdom modifier, not his Charisma modifier. It still does not stack with other sources of Divine Grace, such as the paladin class feature.

Page 12 - Change Aura [Revision and Addition]
The ability to change auras is all ready a standard action. This class feature reduces the action to a move action at 8th level, a swift action at 14th level, and an immediate action at 18th level. At the end of the paragraph, add "If you have the ability to emit two or more types of psychic auras, you may change one or all of them at a time."

Page 13 - Ex-Divine Minds [Revision]
Replace the entire paragraph with the following, "A character who grossly violates the ethics of his deity's alignment loses the ability to manifest any and all psychic auras, and cannot make use of his mantles' granted powers. He retains his ability to manifest powers. He cannot progress further in levels as a divine mind until he atones for his transgressions, at which point he regains his lost abilities.

An ex-divine mind may opt to change religions entirely, forsaking his former patron for a new deity. If he does, he must first receive an atonement spell from a divine spellcaster that worships that deity (such as a cleric or favored soul). Upon doing so, he must exchange all of his mantles (and powers known) for mantles (and powers known) that the new deity offers."

Page 14 - Trapfinding [Omission]
After the Maximum Powers Known class feature, add "Trapfinding [Ex]: A lurk of at least 1st level can use the Search skill to locate traps with a DC higher than 20, and he can use Disable Device to bypass a trap or disarm magic traps. See the rogue class feature, page 50 of the Player's Handbook."

Page 14 - Lurk Augment [Revision]
At the end of the first paragraph, add "However, any power points spent on that use are refunded to the lurk's daily power point allotment."

Pages 14, 15, & 16 - Lurk Augment [Revision]
The save DCs of several Lurk Augments are incorrect. Whenever the DC is listed as "10+lurk's Intelligence modifier", replace that DC with "10+1/2 lurk class levels+lurk's Intelligence modifier".

Page 14 - Additional Sneak Attack (Lurk Augment) [Addition]
After the paragraph, add "This effect applies to all attacks the lurk makes during his turn provided each attack qualifies for the extra damage from sneak attack."

Page 15 - Lurk Class Skills [Omission]
Add the Disable Device, Open Lock, and Search skills to the lurk's list of class skills.

Page 15 - Ghost Touch (Lurk Augment) [Addition]
At the end of the paragraph, add "In addition, this augment applies the effects of the Sneak Attack Undead augment (see above) at no cost."

Page 16 - Greater Power Drain (Lurk Augment) [Revision and Omission]
Replace the second sentence with "The lurk gains temporary power points equal to the damage dealt in this way. Temporary power points function like normal power points, except that they are expended before you expend your normal power points when manifesting a power or augmenting a lurk augment. Unused temporary power points gained in this way fade after 1 minute has passed."

Page 16 - Initiative Boost [Clarification]
This ability does not replace the normal initiative rolls with an Intelligence check. It is merely a bonus on top of the lurk's Dexterity modifier and other bonuses to initiative.

Page 18 - Anarchic Initiate Entry Requirements [Revision]
The skill rank entry requirements for this prestige class are incorrect. The prestige class requires 8 ranks in Knowledge (Psionic) and 4 ranks in Knowledge (The Planes).

Page 18 - Chaotic Surge [Clarification]
When rolling percentiles for this class feature, a result of 1-25 on the d100 roll means nothing happens to the power being manifested. The power is resolved as though you had not used it with the Chaotic Surge class feature.

Page 18 - Anarchic Grace [Clarification]
The text for this ability is incorrect. This class feature provides 20% concealment, not a miss chance. This does not stack with existing concealment benefits, and is overridden by the benefits of total concealment.

Page 19 - Psychic Enervation [Addition]
At the end of the paragraph add "Psychic Enervation from multiple sources stack when determining the effect is has on a psionic manifester."

Page 23 - Ebon Saint Class Skills [Omission]
Add Disable Device to the list of Ebon Saint class skills.

Page 23 - Dire Augments [Revision]
After the third paragraph add "Levels in Ebon Saint count towards your Lurk class levels for the purpose of determining what Lurk Augments you can use and the effects of those Lurk Augments, and vice versa (this only applies if you have both the Lurk Augment class feature and the Dire Augment class feature). Regardless of your Ebon Saint class level, you can combine your Dire Augments with your Lurk Augments to make your strikes far more deadly. Whenever you use a Dire Augment or a Lurk Augment, you may expend a daily use of the other ability to tie it's effects onto your attack. In effect, you are spending one swift action to activate two class features at the same time."

Page 27 - Double Creation [Revision]
Delete all of the first paragraph that comes after the first sentence. Replace it with "Once per day, as part of manifesting the Astral Construct power, you may choose to have it benefit from the Twin Power metapsionic feat without expending additional power points or your own psionic focus. If you do, you may still apply the effects of the Twin Power metapsionic feat to that manifestation."

Page 30 - Illithid Blast [Clarification and Omission]
The Illithid Blast feat gained through this class feature is a bonus feat, and does not count towards the feat you gain once every three levels. Despite the similar names this ability is closer to the Illithid's mind blast special ability, not the Psionic power. Delete all mention of spending power points to use this ability.

Page 33 - Death Ward [Revision]
Delete the paragraph. Replace it with "As part of expending your psionic focus, an Illumine Soul of 2nd level or higher can choose to invoke the effects of the death ward spell on himself, except it's duration is one minute and it only protects against death effects, energy drain, or negative energy effects if the source of that effect is an undead creature. This happens in addition to expending his psionic focus for the purposes of activating a special ability or a feat (such as when using the Deep Impact psionic feat, for example). This ability doesn't remove negative levels that you have already gained, nor does it affect the saving throw you must make 24 hours after gaining a negative level. Using this ability takes no action in and of itself, and you can only have one such death ward active at a time. The caster level is equal to twice your Illumine Soul class level."

Page 33 - Positive Energy Flare [Addition]
After the paragraph, add "You may use this ability at will. This ability ignores the spell resistance of undead creatures."

Page 36 - Mind Arrow [Clarification and Deletion]
A Soulbow uses his Wisdom modifier for the damage roll, not his Strength modifier (despite the ability mentioning composite longbows). Delete the second sentence of the sixth paragraph.

Page 37 - Phase Arrow [Deletion]
Delete the mention of Wall of Fire from this ability's text. Wall of Fire has no effect on projectiles other than blocking line of sight.

Page 40 - Shocking Aura [Revision]
The bonus damage provided by this ability is equal to your permanent manifester level (abilities such as Overchannel or Wild Surge do not increase your permanent manifester level, but a feat such as Practiced Manifester would).

Page 40 - Stormwalker [Revision]
Delete the paragraph. Replace it with "At 3rd level, a Storm Disciple is completely immune to the effects of weather, strong winds, and extreme temperature, but only if it is an environmental effect. This does not provide immunity to Fire or Cold damage, such as the damage dealt by lava, but it would protect the Storm Disciple from exposure to extreme heat or cold (such as the convection from a nearby caldera, or from a blizzard). Spell or power effects that produce weather or strong winds do not affect a Storm Disciple (for example, a Storm Disciple takes no damage from a Storm of Vengeance or a Tornado Blast, and is not subjected to the wind effects of those spells). This ability extends to spells that have an additional effect during some weather situation (such as Call Lightning), but not to spells that make no mention of weather in the rules text (such as Lightning Bolt).

Page 40 - Thunderblade [Revision]
Delete the paragraph. Replace it with "At 5th level and beyond, any melee or ranged weapon you wield gains the Thundering property. This does not count towards the maximum number of special weapon enhancements those weapons could have, and does not check if the weapon has a +1 bonus all ready or not. If the weapon all ready had the Thundering property, the weapon now deals the Sonic damage on a normal hit (instead of on a critical hit).

p. 156 Epic Divine Mind:
Fix: add a final paragraph as so,

than 20th (23rd, 26th, and so on).’

p. 79, Anticipatory Strike:
“[…] cant’s use the power a second time until after your next turn has passed.”
Fix: replace with “[…] cant’s use the power a second time until after your next 2
turns have passed.”

p. 79, Anticipatory Strike, last paragraph
Fix: replace last paragraph with:
“For example, if you normally act on initiative count 15, you could use this power
to take your turn again on initiative count 12, but this means that you wouldn’t be able to
use the power at all on the following round; you would have to wait until the third round
after first manifesting this power.

p. 91, Intellect Bomb, Target/Area:
“One living creature […]}
Fix: delete ‘living’

i spotted those too.

all in all, i found my questions answered (soulknife, erudite, etc.,). this is apparently the work-in-progress file that mr. cordell still had amongst his stuff from when he was actively working on the comp psi. as such, it is exactly in the state he left it in from when he had last worked on it.

I like the completed version of Illithid Blast. Very functional, makes perfect sense for all the other PP references.

Whether or not that other was a request, I'm going to say, please share? Public source would be perfect, but private filesend would do in a pinch.

Niji ... don't forget your Cordell nerf clarification of Ardent.
It basically argrees with what Sinfire has.
Expect old CO hands to (still) not like it.

The Illithid PrC and the similar blast feat boo-boo ...
both just need a few words struck out.
It may have been Intended to cost 2pp to make them
happen, but that isn't necessary.
Both abilities have rather high build costs to get to them.
As in violating Caelic's Commandments level of costs.

I would disagree about that, I like this version of the Illithid blast better. It doesn't *need* a cost, but it brings it into line with augmenting as a mechanic, and makes the ability more variable. (I would be more inclined to rebuild the Illithid itself to reflect this than the other way around.) I think this errata is about as valid as CPsi as a whole (in terms of many people's disagreements with the common power nerfs), by which I mean up to the DM of the game in question to consider valid or not.
