You return to the Mage's Guild to find your Guilds members busily translating while enduring a deep seated theological discussion about cock from the women nearby.

That's your initial impression but several moments of eavesdropping cures you of that misconception. It is a college after all...
Your guildmates notice you and ask if they;re done for the day through clenched teeth

"What!? Such ungrateful minio-- I mean, Guild Recruits. You don't like your first job? How are you supposed to earn your keep? Bah! Very well, I suppose you deserve a break for all your... erm... hard work..." He looks over at the others working on translation dubiously.

"We like hard work just fine. We just don't appreciate distractions."
Next to them one of the more inebriated college girls is wildly brandishing some sort of rubbery penile facsimile as an aid to her arguments. You get the feeling your women don't think much of the less mature college students. The young bunnygirl who escorted you in earlier looks sort of trapped and humiliated by whats going on. She scampers over when seeing you.
"Sir Bartholomeow!! How lovely to see you again!! Let's go out in the hall!"
She begins hauling on you immediately.

Bartholomeow visibly pales at the site of the object and offers little resistance to being hauled out of the room.

"I'm sorry about that some of the younger students sampled the wine a little too much. We're understaffed and taking volunteers for the project, so we have to work with what we can get. Thank you very much for the assistance of the women you sent!! They made up for the girls getting drunk!"
*squishes*
"You're all coming back right? They didn't scare you off?"

Truffles suddenly notices the bunnygirl and begins sniffing her.

"Um, er, yes... I'm sure we'll be back to assist the Mage's Guild further, but for now we, uh, have other pressing guild matter to attend to-- what is it Mr. Truffles?" Bartholomeow eyes the bunny girl and raises an eyebrow as he addresses his familiar.

Truffles hops into her arms curls up into a ball and begins purring.
"Ummm...is this normal?"

"No, it means he's either going to eat you or... can we speak in private?"

SHe blushes
"Um...sure...um, is he safe to hold?"
Truffles is snuggling her in a disconcertingly catlike manner
She leads you into a small scroll room

"He's generally safe enough. He usually only acts like that if you're delicious or undead. Or both."
Bartholomeow looks at his pig, "What is it, Mr. Truffles? Why are you so interested in her?"

He switches his position in her arms to laying on his back as if he wants belly scritches. In cat terms this effectively means he feels comfortable in her presence but you aren't sure Dethpigs understand cat etiquette. Then again he is purring.

"Sooooo...what did you want to talk about?"

"I wanted to talk to you about a job opportunity. You seem markedly more capable then your classmates. How far are you in your studies here?"

"Not as far as I'd like. Many of my teachers are dead in the recent conflagration, and schooling is much on hold until the Professors are replaced. We continue projects as we can but most classes are suspended whilst the authorities chat with the faculty which is left. I fear for the existence of the school and what it might become if the wrong people take over. As you can see there are many students whose prime concern isn't learning or the preservation of knowledge, but drifting by on their parents monies. When they graduate they will likely not be true Wizards, but apprentices with pretensions towards the title." :(

"Divination, languages, esoteric knowledge, some minor illusion and abjuration."

"Divination and languages, eh? That would explain why you were on this assignment. Is that an in-demand field?"
(( Yes, I will be. And yes, they're also going to be heading back there. ))

"Oh my yes, there's all sorts of prophecies and treasure maps and such flying around. Plus given that people are swiped from hundreds of alternate worlds, those of us able to speak or read many languages are in demand. Especially the odder ones."

"Are you part of a group, company, or guild, outside of the Mage's?"

"Nah. They all want flashy sorcerer types who can blow stuff up."

"Well, I know for certain that I could use the skills of a low-profile wizard with exemplary skills. Divination is a subtle art that my guild could use."

"I'm glad you're interested. It's getting late so for now I'll head back to the guildhouse and confer with my partners to see just when we'll be needing you."
With that Bartholomeow will say his goodbyes and depart.

She is most happy. You and the other arrive to find rooms and beds which are in short supply being parceled out.
