How I 'know' is by looking at the evidence, and comparing it to the esoteric tomes I've found and studied. Sure, individually, they look like collections of mythology, but collectively, they do a far better job of explaining things not understood than anything else. And while you might question the veracity of such texts, I ask you, 'How did I learn to conjure purple fire or turn into a hawk if these books are just rubbish?'
We need to act, and I think the best route is to smother him, take him out of the town, and burn him. I'll be the one to kill him, but I'll need a few people to help me carry him out, build the fire, and corroborate the story. Also, we'll need to go out of the town in force.
