"We're not too big on fighting, anyway. Only when we have to." Horizon mirrors Kaleidoscope's shrug. "It gets messy fast, which is why we're here to help out in the first place."

The surroundings begin to blur as they pick up speed, the wind becoming a sharp whistling in the duo's ears. "Why would she get mad?"

Impact Kid's face couldn't be seen under the mask, but there is a certain sense of consternation.

"I dunno. She said something about a fake... weren't there like three sightings of her at once? Maybe that got her pissy."

"You're an illusionist?" The passing air had reached a howling gale,  and the acceleration abruptly cuts off, turning the flight into a descending arc, somehow slowing even as they fall towards a cordoned off area with a tent and table, and land with a jolt, the entire journey having taken a tiny fraction of the time Horizon would have taken,"Never saw one before. Want me to send you back after all this? You can help for longer before nightfall that way. The registration for the helpers is over at the tent there."

The aerial survey is brief, but the area around the former Sigma Sync labs is quite thoroughly ruined, two buildings fused together, a six story building leaning slightly from the damage done to it's supports by Steelhand's passage twice over, a small hotel behind it missing it's lobby. The entire block had been charred and cracked from some kind of large explosion, broken glass littering the area, and a puddle of stone splashed, with signs of other extinguished secondary fires.

Further away is a mass of badly damaged buildings, centered upon a multistorey car park, cleaved nearly in half. Steelhand's rampage no doubt, aided by the other Specials trying to stop him.

"Hmm? Oh, maybe. We could be here a while...we'll come find you once we know what our plans are. Come on, K, we should get started." Horizon gives Impact Kid a wave before heading over to the registration tent, looking for someone in charge.

"What?" Kaleidoscope doesn't think to reply in any other fashion before they're looking for someone to register with. "How'd he get that idea?"

"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess." Horizon shrugs. "No idea why he'd think that was useful here, but hey."

The junior Special frowns at Kaleidoscope's lack of response, shrugs and then takes off at a jog before a rapid acceleration leaves him a speck in the sky. Presumably off to ferry more helpers.

The tent is manned only by one middle aged man, noting down something as an adult Special wearing what could be charitably called a bikini leaves the tent. He turns his attention to Horizon and Kiley, rattling off a much practiced speech with a smile, but limited enthusiasm, "Welcome to the Stardawn disaster response effort. Please state your hero names, team name, classification, powers and working hours please. You will be assigned to where you can be of the most help."

Kaleidoscope hesitates for a bit, then answers, "Horizon and Kaleidoscope. No team name. Brute-mover and... changer, I guess. He's super-strength and speed and I can turn into light and control light near me." She ends up having to repeat herself once or twice thanks to her power's stutter. "Working hours? Um..." She looks at Horizon.

He nods and scribbles away, "Any wall penetrating or indirect line of sight senses? Resistances to toxic liquids, powders and gases? Resistance to impact? Resistance to heat and electricity? Maximum load?"

"Um... I can go through cracks or windows and don't need to breathe. Immune to impacts. He's got a sense that's kind of vague, but it goes through walls. Max load... Um." She looks at Horizon. "Couple hundred tons in a pinch? Is that right?"

"A complete rescue team I see. You could think about a career in search and rescue or the fire department.". The man continues noting the abilities down, pausing at Horizon's carrying capacity, "How much control do you have? Full hand precision, or closer to a forklift? Can you split sections off a wall without shattering the entire thing?"

"Noted. Alright, you'd working under the direction of Chalkboard, he's a Striker with Thinker abilities. He's auxiliary police, so follow his instructions and you'd be fine with regards to liabilities." The official's expression seems to indicate his doubt that any teen Specials would give a damn about liabilities, "Chalkboard should be at the former Wilson Carpark building. Look for a skinny guy in a dark green costume with white helmet and armor panels, with math all over the outfit. No cape. "

"Got it. Thanks." Horizon nods to the official before ducking out of the tent and heading off in the direction of the bisected carpark.

The damaged area was quite impressively wrecked, with the carpark itself caving in towards the center. As they look, an unconscious man is extracted from the wreckage of the carpark and slowly levitated to the first aid station by a pair of telekinetic Specials. Looks like a carpark attendant. A quartet of Blasters and two flying Brutes are carving away sections of wall and roof, under a yelled confusion of instructions. Work seems to be going slowly, there were far more than enough Blasters and Brutes, but most of them are spent clearing ground level rubble rather than doing anything significant.

Chalkboard could be found looking at the work, the adult Special impatient, and as the official neglected to mention, armed with a long extensible staff.

Horizon waves as he crosses into Chalkboard's field of vision. "Hi there. You must be Chalkboard, right? Horizon and Kaleidoscope. Guy with a clipboard sent us here to help with the recovery."

Chalkboard surveys the pair, straightening to a more professional stance and offering his hand,"Finally, a flying Brute I presume, by the name. And I hope your friend there can see through walls, or you're going to be in for a lot of waiting while they greenlight rooms for demolitions or rescue."
