Oh somehow I thought the scissorman's snake arms had grappled her... and I just read the damages, ignoring whether they hit or not... Complete brain spasm there...

And established via PM's that if we're using PF's grapple rules, she totally isn't. :lmao

OK... so if no one in the party is hurt, Matsu will delay until someone is... then he'll take the actions described in my edited post.

The PM's have confused me more, and I'm now at a total loss for what to do, because I don't know which grapple rules we're using.

Either it's PF's, and Akemi therefore isn't grappled because her CMD is too high, or it's 3.5's and I need to roll.

I found it!  The old thread talking about 3.5 vs CMB/CMD.  Right here.  And it looks like I had only gotten one vote on it, and it was a vote to use Variant Combat Maneuver Checks.

So it comes down to the thing I can't remember: is AC equal to or higher than, or simply higher than? Because its roll equals Akemi's CMD.

I had to look it up but it looks like the one rolling needs to meet or beat.  So I made it.

Akemi actually, but I think Akemi, if she failed against the grapple, was just gonna struggle.  Please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Even so next up would be Berid.  You can go ahead if you like.

Well, yes. She might also be on 0 HP. It's not entirely clear.

Somewhere on the moon, in the home of one Eiji Hyrule...

"Boy, it's been a while since Strata moved I think.  It's hard to tell since I've been busy lately and I mean to be patient.  I wonder who is up.  Ha, perhaps they forgot to go, or maybe they're having an issue.  Well, I'll check up on it soon."

Time passes.

"Phew, still didn't get to it.  But I have a moment now.  ...whoa, I thought it's only been a week, but it's been two.  I have gotten completely mixed around lately I suppose.  Oh well, who's up?

...oh.

...

...OH.

Well.... shit."

And that is the story about how your DM totally botched it up.  Sorry guys, on it now.  @_@

No problem. I'm just glad to see the game (and you) is still alive!

So where is Akemi and/or the Scissorman on the map?

The Scissorman has dragged Akemi (and itself) into it's spoopy portal just around the corner.  Lots of screaming, yes, and probably spooks and scares.  So they are off the map, though the portal remains open for now.

Is she still within Matsu's network (it has a range of medium)? I'm guessing no... but felt obliged to ask.

That is a negative.  Range unknown, but definitely not here.

Per the swarm subtype, that damage should be doubled I'm pretty sure.

Half again (+50%), per SRD and PFSRD.

This says double.
Quote
A creature swarm takes a –10 penalty on saving throws against spells or effects that affect an area, such as many evocation spells or grenade-like weapons. If the area attack does not allow a saving throw, the swarm takes double damage instead.

Edit: No... it uses exactly the same damned wording...  :banghead :shakefist
