Unable to retreat, Jac refuses to yield and desperately makes a stand.

Heedless of the danger, the last of the biyou to remain upright charges at Jac, roaring furiously and throwing a dagger as he does so.

Xaver slowly moves over to the tough on the ground, then stabs down with his spear.

As the last of the biyou collapsed to the ground, impaled on Xaver's spear, the crowd, which had built to a hushed roar, burst into full-throated screaming, some of it imprecations against the outsiders who would dare to beat local favourites, others already having picked the three friends to make their way to the top of the Wardens. Whatever the outcome, they had marked themselves as ones to watch in the War of Rose & Thorn.

Jac simply nods to acknowledge the crowd and makes his way offstage, his wounds slowly healing.
Hmm.

The expression of the Living Sun Warden as he approached from his scorer's mount was hardly complimentary, more screwed into something displeased. "Very well done. You have beaten the locals. Now you have to live through the night in Fracha." The pybyr snorted. "It would have gone easier for you if you had died in the ring." Still, he handed them a slip with the time of their next bout, as well as an admonition to enjoy their last night under the sky that Awyr Leuad ruled over.

"Just one more reason why I avoid cities...." Xaver mutters under his breath.

"That made me hungry. Same with you?" Jac says simply.
Hmm.

Inoski glares at the other pybyr and mutters "Better watch that big mouth or you might not survive the night, huàidàn."

Then says to Jac "Yeah, food sounds good. I know a place just around the corner. I won't claim that it's good... but at least it won't leave you heaving over the latrine."

I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.
