Klau-Doth says in a triumphant voice "YES! A temple of Water! It yet holds power! Look to the pool, yet filled! This will be the seed to my Ascension! A new Empire, based upon the elements, not the false sorcerer gods!" as he leaves the undead beast and his allies and begins to move up to the pool.

Urax rolls his eyes when Klau-Doth's back is turned and mutters something about how this is just like working for the templars all over again.

Kythor looks over the pool and slowly gets down, taking his bag with him.

"This aught to be interesting."

Klau-Doth walks up to the pool and peers in.

Kythor turns to Urax and chuckles as he says loudly,
"Just wait, something is going to come out of that water and eat him."

Urax sighs and nods.  He pulls out his mekillot sap and takes up a protective position behind Klau-Doth.

These magic users always end up overestimating their power and getting themselves killed.

A deep and murky pool presents itself to Klau-Doth's eyes, algae thickening the water and making it all but opaque. It is, however, not a still pool. Little ripples waft along the surface, and there appears to be the occasional current. Perhaps it is the remains of whatever connection this place once had to elemental water.

Klau-Doth says "The water moves. Perhaps there is still some power in this temple... or perhaps something lurks beneath its murky surface." He flips the end of his alhulak into the water, testing it.

As he stirs the waters, a swimming creature slowly becomes visible in the deeps, its mouth opening to nibble on the end of the alhuak, trying to eat it and pull it down into the water. It's not a particularly aggressive attack, more like a cautionary nibble despite the force it exerts.

"That thing looks hungry, anyone got any food? Before it thinks we're food..."

Kythor readies an action to manifest an over channeled Crystal shard if the creature decides Klau-doth is lunch

Klau-Doth mutters "Bah, a mere beast. Let us move on and ignore it for now. It seems to be confined to the pool." and pulls his weapon from the water while moving away.

Kythor shrugs and keeps a wide birth from the pool.

"I hope you're right, but I'm not taking chances."
Kythor doesn't move from his position, but his stance changes and he keeps an eye on the water.

Urax follows along to make sure these two don't get themselves killed.

Kythor sees Urax move and follows, keeping him between him and the pool.

Klau-Doth ignores the pool for now, and moves on towards the entrance.

As they start to walk away from the pool area, the creatures, for it turned out there were two of them, that had tried to eat Klau-Doth's weapon, broke the surface and began swimming for the coping. Now clearly visible, they had dozens of feathery, flat legs used for paddling, as well as crushing mandibles, although what they were eating in the temple's holy pool that required such was uncertain. Perhaps more secrets lay in its depths.

Kythor eyes the creatures in the pool warily and begins to walk towards Klau-doth.
