Lionel had been quiet this whole time. Something was bothering him. Besides the fact that Elizabeth turned into a rat. More than the general panic of things cryptological. The problem was that he heard this before. Not this exact thing, of course not, but the mad talk of magic and the supernatural. First his crazy old uncle, and then Barnes. He would have to put things to the side. There's been a murder it seems. Spoiled food, bodies, gunpowder. These things, he pondered if they were related directly with the suspect.
He may not believe in Elizabeth's tricks, but there was something to be said to psychological warfare. Plus, that slime was evidence. They needed it. The party turned back for the moment to regroup back home, only to find... more death.
"Devil's balls, we leave for a few hours and there's already a mass murder. Alright, let's see them."It was a real mess. Knife wounds likely, this was definately a weapon. While Elizabeth went off to find the drunken witness, Lionel chose to stay here and keep an eye on the bodies and the surroundings. He'll stay up to watch during the night too. After all, if these psychotic fools were still about it would be best if someone was waiting for them with a big stick, so to speak.
