Unique gave Ceci a nod, very quick but for those watching it was there. Truth be told, seeing the doorman just up and cut down like that, so quick and brutal, shook her up a little inside. Sure, people died everyday down here in Evernight, but how many of them do you know by name? Poor Larn. He didn't have a wife or family, not that she knew. And with the way he looked over some of the ladies here, it was all but assured he didn't have a wife at least.

Kids, maybe. Now that she thought about it, which she didn't want to at the moment.

Get a grip, Unique. That kind of regretful thinking will only get you killed in an equally inglorious way. At Ceci's proclaimation of keeping an eye on her back, and the bodily punctuation of said statement by taking her side, Unique felt a little better. Someone so natural, and someone so... molded. Yin and yang, really.

"We'll keep an eye on each other." the elf said with determination, with purpose. "And as for who he is... the chap in the pas cher chapeau is now personne indésirable, and shall be called as such." a pause. Maybe everyone here didn't attend the Sylvan Learning Centers...

"Unwelcome." she said, with malice.

"As much as I hate to say it, short of making a dash for the Strip, of all places, we're in one of the more heavily defended, and defensible, places in Evernight right now." she motioned around, "And I doubt that we were the only ones who noticed that grisly event. If I know the Wizard..."

And she did.

"... we won't have to hold Carousel forever. Just long enough for Tiny to find the right color slip for the job." she commented with a smile. "He fights terrible when he clashes."

"Well, that's a pleasant thought. Barricade ourselves here, then, and attack from cover?" Considering the number of attackers, Ash thought that they must be incredibly dangerous, to go in directly, and knowingly outnumbered. Then again, the disappearing man had made that mistake. He started looking around the room, trying to see what could be moved to provide a waist-high cover, at least. He'd rather save his sword for when it was a last resort, and not make it necessary right away. Unique might not appreciate the redecorating, but it was preferable to a shot in the head...

Wrench looks around the room, hoping to assist in building some barricades. If it could be built, he could build it.
Smile beautiful. It's not as bad as you think.

"Bowler hat...bowler hat..." Arthur mutters under his breath, eyes tracking back and forth behind the lenses of his glasses as he attempts to coax DivNet into divulging anything it knows about the heavily-accented man upstairs.

Ravage takes position directly in front of the door, waiting for someone to try to come through.

Suddenly, the lift door opens, and a thin white mist pours out of the doorway.
