Eric peeks inside, trying as best he can to not expose too much of his head:

Damn that window is solid!

You can find one window slightly open.  It must be the one he was firing from.  There's the smell of an open sewer coming form the house.  You cannot see the farmer.

"I don't see him, but it stinks in there. I wonder if he's been locked in there long enough that he hasn't gone outside at all?

Or I hope it's not something else... Should we go in?"

"Stand back, Harry. This is no time to play it subtle." Will lifts his Halberd high and swings it's head thrice into the barricaded door.

Harry flanks Will's other side, preparing his rifle similarly. "Alright, let's get those boards severed and get through..."

Wilfred is aiding whoever is breaking the boards, and readying a shot in case of surprise attack.

A rough path is hacked through the boards.  There is no response from inside.  It smells pretty bad.

Harry takes charge and goes through the cracked door rifle first, a prayer on his mind to not take a lead ball after crossing the threshold.

It's pretty awful.  It seems to be an open sewer sort of smell so you're betting he's been locked up for days and been using one of the side rooms as a latrine.  Which  implies a sort of desperation.  The house is a shambles with stuff thrown everywhere and vermin aplenty.

"Appalling," Robert says, voice slightly muffled by the cloth over his face.
