If you guys want to post your char sheets and backgrounds here, that would be great.  Also include links to homebrew, please.

Here is my character sheet:

Tyr

And the hombrew I used:

Avatar

Are we using speech colors? If so, Tyr will talk in Georgia Purple.

This Carapace sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgVgEHf1apKjdENHc1dlOHlKY2pfd0RCRzlsSC1TR0E

This Carapace color

Carapace back story not much. Not remember much. Always told to kill, to smash, so must be thing to do. Smarter people tell Carapace what to do, but if Carapace not like, then better run. Not matter. Carapace catch.

First memory, magic lab. Maybe born, maybe made. Not matter. Lab look better once smashed. Met friend there, good friend. He say he avatar, but then why everyone call him Tyr. Also, him not cry, so maybe Tyr is bad name for him. Tyr is Carapace friend, and Carapace smash anything that hurts friend.

That's weird. Considering Carapace has a higher Int score than Tyr.

Hmm, maybe Tyr can't finish sentences.  :D

Carapace has trouble speaking Common, but speaks Elven easier. Must be the Thri-Kreen blood.

Makes sense, right?

Here's Haliax, the Blue Mage. All Homebrew involved is linked on his sheet.

Or obvious reasons, Haliax will be talking like this.

Also, SirP, I'd love to see your decision for mentor, since it will help inform Haliax's backstory. Ideally, I'd have some link to Protea since mutability is very much a theme for a Blue Mage as well.

This is my next to-do for this game after finishing the affiliation rewrites.

By the way, since there's still work to be done before we can start, I'd like to point out that the other two teams have 5 and 6 members to your 4.  Feel free to recruit another player, if you like -- I invited TheGeometer to play a Residuum character, but I have no idea if he wants to... either way it's up to you, recruit another member or stay lean+mean.

We could definitely use another recruit or 2. The more the merrier.

I could play a second character if it'd help. I could write up Sable (Diminutive Anthropomorphic Weasel Rogue) if folks think we need a sneaky-sneaky backstab machine. Or a scout that's practically invisible.

Yeah, we could use another caster or a damage dealer.

Okay, then see if someone else wants to play a caster or a sword-on-a-stick. If you can't find anyone to fill those roles, my offer stands :)

Maybe we could see if Prime was interested in making a character.

Also, SirP, migt I recommend adding something like "Majority of character levels are in a full-casting class: +2" or something? As is, it's still very hard to gain points with the Magi.  Under the revised version, Haliax goes from something like 15 points down to 6, not even enough to have a mentor.

Also, how will spell research work? Given his unique capabilities, I was wondering about a way for Haliax to experiment with his learned spells to mix/match effects to create new spells and variations (like taking Kelpstrand and Solid Fog/Fog Cloud and making a spell that summons a mist that grapples and entangles foes).

Hm... I'll think on how else to get points in the Magi.  I will say that it's supposed to be hard... it's a very "good-old-boy" sort of grouping.  But you're right, I think right now it's too hard.

And, that sounds really cool!  See what kinds of mechanics for research you can come up with.

SirP, would you consider asking Prime if he's interested? (Or any other respected community member. Bozwieval perhaps?) I don't either one well enough to just up and ask them.

I PM'ed Prime & Boz.  We shall see what sort of shenanigans ensue...
