Bartholomeow scowls and opens the door dramatically.

Benny is directing minions in the setting up of a room far too large to actually exist here whilst a certain woman you remmeber not so fondly is purring contentedly while hugging a poor fraught gopher.

Bartholomeow eyes the girl nervously, but throws caution to the wind, "What is going on in here!?"

"Why hello Bartholomeow.  I called in a favor, I need to hide from my ex for a bit.  Hows Truffles behaving?"

Benny seems all smiles

Bartholomeow pinches his brows again trying to remain calm, "You know, I seem to recall a certain gawd saying that our relationship needed to remain low-key, subtle... Taking over our basement is not subtle!!!" The merest hint of a flush of anger rises in his cheeks, and anybody looking on would have to admit he's quite cute when he's angry. "The people upstairs told me without a moments hesitation or any proof that I was actually who I said I was!"

"In their defense they are new, and this is an unusual situation.  Also I used my powers to wipe out all memory of my existence here except for inhabitants and employees.  Relax.  By the time my ex realizes I'm not home I'll be moving back in there."

Bartholomeow crosses his arms and looks skeptically at Benny, "Is that so? Well, who is your 'ex' anyways?"

"Bah! Goddess of the Dead indeed... If she draws her powers from the dead, why do the living bother with her?"

"They don't.  See us Gawds have a specific sphere of influence and we draw our power from those worshipers.  It makes me one of the stronger Gawds because everyone's scared of something, sometime.  It makes Natasha very powerful because everyone dies, so the more dead people there are the stronger she is.  She's hoping to be able to take on the boss someday.  But every time one of you gets resurrected or becomes and undead she's 'robbed' of that worshiper.  And since she has a temper if you do it often enough, and big enough, she'll kill you personally unlike other Gawds who manipulate others or assign your case to minions.

"Hmm... I guess she would have to get her hands dirty if she doesn't have any mortal followers. Does she have any special sort of sense for knowing who is resurrecting things or where it's being done?"

"Yes and no.  See she's a stickler ofr details, and you have to fill out reams of paperwork to determine your place in the afterlife.  This has led to a tremendous backlog of souls standing in line, sometimes for centuries, doing nothing.  When one of us wants to resurrect a follower we need to create some massive distraction so we can snatch him from his place in line.  It looks instantaneous here but I assure you it's anything but.  Plus she does have a mortal clergy and small following of cultist fanatics who worship her to earn buttkissing points in this life.  They volunteer to be sort of like psychic relays for her.  She can see and hear through them if she concentrates on them."

Bartholomeow's brow furrows with disdain, "Well, that could certainly be a problem, but at least she's got at least one glaring weakness... I imagine her practices put her at odds with a lot of other gawds, right? Does she have any solid allies?"

"She's in the habit of taking the worshipers of others by having them killed, so no.  No not really.  She doesn't much need them."
