NOTE: Due to porting this guide from BrilliantGameologists, some formatting changed drastically.  Use the BG version for prettiness.  I updated a link in this MinMax version (Treantmonk's Wizard guide) and no longer claim that an Incantatrix's Metamagic Effect applies to a supernatural ability, even though a reserve feat-summoned Elemental says, "The elemental acts as if summoned by a summon monster spell."

HOMEBREW FEAT IN THIS POST - Put here for the convenience of anyone who wants to use it!
Improved Elemental Summoning
Prerequisites: Knowledge: Planes 2 Ranks
    Whenever you could summon a true elemental (a creature with "Elemental" in its name and of the Elemental type) with a spell or an effect such as summon monster or summon nature's ally, you may instead summon the next larger true elemental or more true elementals of the same type (air elementals, water elementals, and so on).  For example, using summon monster III could bring you a Medium true elemental instead of a Small true elemental.

    Also, using the Summon Elemental reserve feat (Complete Mage 47), you could instead summon a Medium true elemental or d3 Small true elementals of the same type when you could normally summon a Small true elemental.  If you summoned d3 elementals, all must be of the same type (air, fire, etc.) and remain within 30' of you.  Any that were beyond this range would instantly be unsummoned.  Furthermore, when you used Summon Elemental, all elementals from previous feat uses would be unsummoned.

    In general, see the chart below.  Certain things bear mentioning:  This feat has no effect on creatures of the Elemental type that aren't true elementals, like thoqqua, nor does this feat affect primal elementals or true elementals of greater CR or greater power than elemental monoliths.  Thus, an elemental weird (Monster Manual II 90) and a primal elemental are unaffected.

*With this feat, the spell summon elemental monolith conjures d3 monoliths of the same element and still requires concentration and an expensive material component.  With summon monster IX or summon nature's ally IX, you may summon 1 monolith, and doing so doesn't require concentration or an expensive material component.

Also, summon elemental monolith only summons d3 monoliths, not d4+1 as this feat might indicate.

^Gaining d3 Elementals from this feat only works for elemental monoliths and for Elementals gained from the Summon Elemental feat.

Special: A Wizard may take this as a bonus feat at level 5, 10, 15, or 20.

Special: This feat may be used instead of the feat Augment Elemental (Magic of Eberron 46) to qualify for feats, prestige classes, and all other abilities.  If you would be granted Augment Elemental, you may instead take Improved Elemental Summoning.  You may simultaneously have Augment Elemental and Improved Elemental Summoning.

*MW Holy Symbol of Ehlonna: +1 HP/HD

*Ring of the Beast: Lets you cast summon nature's ally creatures using a spell slot 1 spell level lower, such as summoning a creature from the SNA IV list from a level 3 slot.  You must be able to cast spells of the higher spell level.

*Ring of Mighty Summons: Max HP/HD, halved summon duration, usable 3/day

CLASSES
*Master Specialist (Conjuration)4: +CL HP

*Master Specialist (Conjuration)10: Cast any standard action Conjuration spell as a swift action, usable 3/day

*Paragnostic Apostle (Call of Worlds): Fast Healing 2 initially, 3 @CL9, 4 @CL12, 5 @CL15

ALTERNATIVE CLASS FEATURES
*Wizard (Conjurer) - Rapid Summoning: Lose your familiar (and access to Abrupt Jaunt - gasp!) but be able to use full-round summons as standard actions summons.  These summons only get a standard action the first round of existence.

FEATS
*Augment Elemental: Summoned Elemental creatures get +2 accuracy, +2 temporary HP/HD

*Augment Summoning: All creatures get +4 STR, +4 CON

*Rashemi Elemental Summoning: [Air] Elementals most notably can cast cone of cold 3/day.  [Earth] Elementals most notably get +2 natural AC, DR 10/magic, cold resist 5, SR 5 + HD.

*Summon Elemental [Reserve]: Summon a Small Elemental (the plain' ol' Water/Air/Fire/Earth Elemental) initially, or a Medium version if you power this feat with a level 6+ slot, or a Large version if you power this feat with a L8 slot.

WONDROUS LOCATIONS
*Worldmeet Glade: +2 damage, +2 on all d20 rolls, +2 HP/HD
