No, I ditched the idea of buying a group package since there's a discount on the basic game right now. I bought the individual DM package.

Would you update map so I can see where we're at?

Thanks.

Map updated, and my last post in the main thread has been edited for more clarity.

I know this is early, but I want to get ahead of it: Dylan will be coming down for Dundracon in Feb (President's Day weekend, the 13th and 14th) and I want to get the gang back together to pay some games.

I'll keep it in mind.  By which of course I mean I'll likely forget.  Can you send a reminder a bit closer to the date of proposed gathering?

I will be sending monthly reminders, since most of us have busy schedules.

I plan to have this be the second installment of this game played live, like we did in July.

First monthly reminder that we're playing D&D on President's Day weekend at DunDraCon.

Also, Sword Coast Legends is out and I couldn't help myself:

I'm past the first quest location and moved on to Luskan. So far there's one main quest line and a few side quests (find my brother, fetch me some mushrooms, etc.).

Some quests have decision points like Mass Effect has where you can use a skill like Persuade to try and get the result you want. Otherwise it comes down to combat.

I found the controls clunky at first, but I'm starting to get used to it. The camera needs to be moved manually and rotated, which can be annoying, but you can pause combat to get the view you want.

NPC ai are pretty good at their jobs (Cleric heals, Wizard blasts, etc.). There have been times where they do dumb stuff  like when I directed the Wizard to put a ranged foe to sleep, which he did, and followed that up with an attack to wake it back up again. You can micro-manage, but that requires you to constantly pause, direct, unpause, repeat.

Abilities and spells are cooldown based, with different levels and skill trees based on class.

Hey! I cry copyright infringement!

I hope you're using proper dialogue with him.

Which day that President's day weekend works best for gaming? The 13th would be my preferred day.

Sneering at the Wizard, the Goblin rips the conjured shovel from his hand and begins to move the sand out of the room into the hallway; muttering to himself in an unknown language.  Seeing little else to do, Gorbug gives him a hand, using an upturned shield to move the sand.

Would it be possible to take a short rest here while they're digging? I need to heal a bit.

Yeah, now is a good time. It looks like it will be a while before the diggers find anything.

FYI: Not sure if I mentioned this before, but you can roll the hit dice used for healing during a short rest one by one, checking the result for each as you go.

For example, if you're down 10hp, you could take a short rest and spend one hit die to heal. Let's say you roll a 1 on the hit die. You could then roll another hit die as part of the same short rest to heal more. You don't have to choose the number of dice rolled at the start of the rest.

Am I actually unconscious? I should have 2hp left after the attack. Should I also roll initiative?

Melisander is conscious. He was knocked prone by the attack. He is up first in the initiative order. He's got a beast-man looming over him, and his companions have not yet reacted.

My original description wasn't great, I fixed that.
