I thank you for taking iniative in this grave matter, as too often people just let problems fester and grow. If you don't know any other important detail, we need to make haste to the church to speak with the single witness and then see if we can also talk with Aleyd Burral, hopefully he'll have gathered more information.

"Sounds like a plan.

Well, dear sir, it looks like you've got a bunch of adventures"

Feeling mollified, Doomguide Yovir proffers an olive branch.

"I cannot offer any payment for this, although adventures often lead to wealth and glory that you might acquire through your own deeds.  However, I can give you two potions of healing that you might use in your efforts."

He then pauses as if remembering something.

"Magiries, as a paladin of Kelemvor I have another potion for you as a gift from the church for taking the fight to the undead."

After handing Magiries three potions of healing he continues.  "I have also arranged riding horses and rooms for you at the Laughing Goblin Inn where you may stay tonight after you have finished investigating.  The horses unfortunately are not a gift, the church cannot afford such largess."

Magiries takes the potions, carefully storing them away... after all, to a common soldier, there might be one per entire block of soldiers--most likely for the one financing the whole expedition. Even the simple things could be quite expensive when needed in bulk.

"Very well. I propose that myself and Moreira should, as our more soldierly compatriots, interview Sir Aleyd, whilst the rest of you ask the survivor his tale."

"As you say.

I guess we'll be off, then"

Teferi briefly wonders if he should go with the others as an opportunity to learn more about them but decides to play it safe and continues to hang out with his paladin friends.
