Niyati Shama Dar
« on: June 06, 2012, 12:21:44 AM »
I was born in a small village in Bombay, India; 7th Daughter in a home with no sons. Anevay (mom) and Chinja (Dad) Shama Dar were not the most wealthy and a home full of women is not the ideal, culturally. An old tradition exists in my village: sacrifice. There is a sprit in the mountains you present the "unwanted" to and good fortune is bestowed on your home. At 13, me and all the other 7th daughters are escorted up this mountain: I walk proud, this is for my family. Some girls are not as strong but are shown no grace. The 7th Daughters didn't make this decision, this choice was made for you. Rather dead than shunned, ignored and hated. At the pond in the mountains it is eerily quietly. All of the families stay in the village; none are brave enough to watch. One by one we are held up in the pond until all motion ceases. Most are forced, I give myself to the icy, cold water. Liquid death fills my lungs. I am dead. I died for my family.

I feel a burning all over. I raise my head. It's nightfall and there are things on the edge of the pond pulling the girls in with sticks. I cough up water and alert them. I run. Fast. I hear them: I can sense their minds. I was their prize. My flesh was their's to mold. I crawl into a small hole. I hear their taunts vocally and mentally. Why can I hear their thoughts? I see the things they want to do to me rending and mending my flesh. I try to close my mind but they get in. I cry and cry until sunrise. I spend months in the mountains in fear of the things, feeding off goats milk and berries. But every night I must hide in the smallest of places. Because they find me... every night they find me. I make my way out of the mountains which was easy. I follow my link to my home and head to my village. I run home to my family but the house is empty. I ask a neighbor what has happened to my family. He recognizes me and says I'm the reason they were carried off in the night. That's why they were able to find me every day. My scent. And it comes all the way back here. I leave the village knowing they would never accept me back. I head to Bombay to find answers about my newfound powers. I meet a clique of people that never ask me of my family or my life. They also have a quirk. I join these Hollow Ones and travel.

1) You have 6 spheres and you should have 7 (6 starting + 1 from freebies).
2) What do the Tzimisce have to do with India :P?
3) Your paradigm is very colorful, no pun intended :P
4) I'd prefer if you didn't take anything from Forged by Dragon's Flame. I don't have the book and never read it and by the looks of it, it's a very powerful effect :P

Hollow ones have no feebies unless you allow it. I'll drop the wonder replace it with destiny. I used the Tzimisce because I always found them very creepy. There could be a small group of them that gather these corpses for their "blood museum" but again if you don't want them in India when I'll use something else. Niyati is very colorful and bubbling so it reflects in her magic.

Hollow ones have 15 freebies normally. The only difference with the other traditions is that you can spend 6 spheres wherever you want and your XP for all spheres to raise is new rating x 6 (instead of new rating x 5 and new rating x 7)

I don't have a problem with Tsimisce.

Destiny's fine as a background.
