A planeswalker prestige class.

PLANAR PIONEER

A planar pioneer is a planeswalker who has traveled far and wide, becoming much more versatile in his planar nodes.

BECOMING A PLANAR PIONEER
A Planar Pioneer begins his career as a Planeswalker.

 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
   Feats: Deactivate Node.
   Special: Access to one outer planar node, one inner planar node, and one transitive planar node.
   Special: Ability to attune to two nodes simultaneously.


Class Skills
 The Planar Pioneer's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Arcana (Int), Concentration (Wis), Gather Information (Cha), Natural Lore (Wis), Negotiation (Cha), Persuasion (Cha), and Scholarship (Int)..

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A planar pioneer gains no new weapon or armor proficiencies.

Planar attunement bonus: At each planar pioneer level, a planar pioneer's planar attunement ability improves as if he had also gained a level in the planeswalker class. He gains the indicated increase to her effective planeswalker level for the purpose of determining his bonus on attunement checks and the node abilities he can activate.  He does not, however, increase the number of nodes he has access to, or any other benefit a planeswalker would have gained.

Varied access: A planar pioneer acquires a new node at every planar pioneer level.  He may choose outer, inner, or transitive planar nodes.

Threnody: A planar pioneer can attune to one inner planar node, one outer planar node, and one transitive node simultaneously.

Harmonic adaptability (Su): At 2nd level, a planar pioneer gains the ability adapt his abilities to changing situations.  Once per day while using his threnody ability, he may spend a full-round action to change his attuned nodes, as if using the Deactivate Node feat on all three nodes simultaneously.  He gains an additional daily use of this ability at 4th, 7th, and 9th level.

Harmonic resonance (Su): Whenever a planar pioneer of 3rd level or higher uses his threnody ability, the resonance between his nodes increases their potency.  Increase the DC for any ability granted by his nodes by +1.

Harmonic protection (Su): Beginning at 5th level, whenever a planar pioneer uses his threnody ability, the harmony between his nodes grants him a measure of protection from magical effects that would otherwise control or compel him. If the pioneer is affected by an enchantment spell or effect and fails his saving throw, he can attempt it again 1 round later at the same DC. He gets only this one extra chance to succeed on her saving throw. 

Improved harmonic resonance: At 6th level, the bonus to save DC granted by a planar pioneer's harmonic resonance increases to +2.

Harmonic aura (Su): Starting at 8th level, a planar pioneer's harmonic protection ability applies to all allies within 30 feet.

True harmony (Su): Upon reaching 10th level, a planar pioneer is in perfect harmony with his nodes.  Whenever he successfully makes an attunement check, he gains a cumulative +1 bonus to all attacks, skill checks, and saves for 1 hour, to a maximum bonus of +10.

Looks good. ;)

Now that I think about it, I've got yet another question (:blush sorry): does planar attunement bonus increases the number of nodes you can attune yourself to? Like, would a PW 10/PP 10 be able to be attuned to 4 nodes like a plain PW 20 would normally be able to?

No -- the point of this class is that you only ever get to attune 3, one of each.  You have a lot of node choices, though.

This isn't true for other classes (like virtual being), those do stack to allow you to attune more nodes.  This class just specifically denies it.

Actually, that reminds me -- I have an off-level ability I forgot to add in.  I'll do so.

Ohh okay, thanks again. That's what confused me here; when I've read it on the Virtual Being it does say it increases the number of nodes you can attune yourself to. Yeah, with the Threnody ability, it makes more sense both thematically and mechanically.

edit: Do you have some ideas for the Astral Plane already? If not, I could try to make something for it. It'd be cool if that one could be done too because of the half-elf subs, which I'll most likely consider for my PC since I'm planning on going into Planar Pioneer.

I have only 1 idea, which is something having to do with channeling spirits (like Speak with Dead and then Channel Greater Spirit, Channel the Mishtai, etc.).

So you're going to do PP instead of VB? That's kewl.  :)

I have lots of ideas for the Inner and other Transitives, btw.  Just not the Astral.  Once I finish posting the outers I'll move on to the others.
