Does anyone know the sales figures for 5e?  Is it possible this is a cost cutting move?

What doesn't make sense is that they're also killing the MTG forums. The card game is still printing money for Wotc no matter how badly 5e may be performing.

Has the Tome of Battle for Dummies been copied over to here? If not, that would be a good one for someone to work on.

I dont know if there's stuff in there that needs saving, but if you guys need arms and hands to copy/paste, count on me. I got some free time for the next few days.
Could I trouble you to grab Tempest_Stormwind's optimiztion showcases?

Alright. Working on it.

Is this site backed-up in case the worst would happen?

Done for now. Link for Word files here.

Since my time online in a few days will get very small, is someone willing to make a thread of it?

Guys, what can we do to draw the disaffected masses away from WotC forums to Min/Max boards?

On it. I barely managed to hold on to my 339 account, although WotC put up a long, tough, and brutally ugly attempt to keep me from logging in for the last few years (mysterious technical problems ftl)

What about the 3.5 archive web enhancements? Have we mirrored everything in the free handbook?
I'm pretty sure I have links that the free 3.5 handbook didn't find...

Re: WotC to shut down its forums: grab any Handbooks while you still can!
« Reply #31 on: September 22, 2015, 05:20:18 PM »

... I've already come across a number of handbooks in the past couple weeks that have links pointing to WOTC pages that give a 404 error when clicked. Don't know if that's related to this current debacle ...

Yes it's absolutely related.  They've had multiple
forums re-orgs each one of them a special disaster
unto themselves.

boards1.wizards is one of the old addresses, gleemax
is another.  There're a bunch of [wotc-archive] and
[archive] and various other spellings.  One of the archives
just had an i.p. address, nothing else.  It's a mess.
White Screen Of Death, happened to so many things.

Primary example, in Surreal's Index ALL links are broken.
All.

I have an index of mirrored content from WotC on GitP, here; please PM me or post in the thread if you have made copies of content so that I may link to it.

I just procured a genetic sample, so if the worst happens we can clone your kitty avatar.  Or you can put it in a kitty carrier with right click > save image yourself.   :D

Since the threads have been merged, I'm going to unabashedly bump my earlier post to reiterate that GitP has an index of 3.X WotC material. There are directions on how to easily copy threads over in the first post. In the second post, there's a list of threads that have not yet been copied (to my knowledge).

Anyone willing to lend a hand is appreciated; I link to threads on GitP, RPG.net, EN World, BG, even google PDFs. Let me know if you have copied content, and I will add it to the index.

For folks interested in saving threads about other editions, EN World's Emergency Lifeboat is the best collection I have seen, though I haven't looked very hard.
