I've got a bit of a raspy cough.

Also, now I can see this thread! It cannot hide from me.

Because there was food talk at the end of the last thread:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/490865454/good-and-cheap

It's worth a try to get some stuff going.  If the $4 a day thing is at all valid then that's pretty good.  Alas, the PDF doesn't seem to split up pages properly.  Hm, I hope I can turn my tablet sideways to look at stuff.

Also:  I'm finding I have mental issues that will require a therapist at some point.  Been thinking about how to handle them for a few months now, but getting a medical diagnosis would be very useful.

That author is cheating those serving sizes are literally the size of teacups.

That's not "Eating well on $4 a day", that's "You wish you have more than $30 a week to spend on food cause this shet is god damned delicious but you will only ever have enough for two bites per meal."

Edit: Excuse me while I download the PDF to find more things to comp--I mean, critique  :rolleyes

Two shows I forgot: Patti's Mexican table and Rick Bayless.   I'm kind of boycotting Batali he's a bit of a prick in real life.

What have I done?

After a tough fight with bandits who disabled their cart they were riding and which nearly ended in a TPK, my players have decided to pimp their ride.

They are entering the city with a simple wooden cart.

They plan to leave the city in an APC.

What have I wrought?
Mudada.

Those fools already have a small cannon they stole from elsewhere (they were using it on the wooden cart effectively, until I broke their wheel with a ballista-sized arrow).

The original Axejack currently has a horse drawn wagon with rear-extensions (Horse-drawn limo!) with a gun turret (PF) on the top, a rear mounted cannon we stole from orcs, and a bottom mounted cannon+grenade launcher because we just got it flying when we replaced the horses with Phantom Steeds and put Levitate on the carriage.

And we did this just before deciding to go to war against a country ruled by dragons.

Yeah, that's gonna be something alright. Obligatory aerial drive-bys queuing up.

Since my players don't visit here, I can say I do have a new hazard for them.

Mud.

Pity, they're currently in a desert.  Though mountains and snow awaits them the further they go.

*Shudders at mention of Axejack* Later on, when a spoiler in Strata is revealed, remind me to revisit this topic for much lulz.

That reminds me - I'll have to bring my trail cookbook back to uni with me when I go home for Thanksgiving; it consists entirely of meals you can make with a single pot/pan. I like minimizing dishes.

I dreamt I was making lasagne and now I want to do that. But I don't have any of the ingredients, not even flour. :lmao

You like to make your own pasta? Bravo.

Generally when any sort of pasta, i only cook the ingredients & sauce, and buy the pasta itself pre-made. It just saves a lot of trouble.

I don't like working with flour, it just tends to leave too much of a mess to clean up afterwards.

I'm pretty much deciding what my career will be in a couple of days.

My basic options are Law, Publicity and PR. Mostly for economic reasons...

So my options are basically...

- Go into a job - any job - with an inherently flawed system that's being systematically torn apart by government agencies.
- Perfect my ability to lie to people to the point where they'll buy anything. This, of course, when I hate hypocrisy and have spent the better part of the past five years forging a policy of truth for myself.
- Become a small-scale diplomat, minus the travelling, and making sure the image of some company or another remains squeaky clean regardless of what kind of policies they employ. So, lying again, or at the very least picking my words extraordinarily carefully - something I'm not very good at.

All this while aware that my anxiety over the issue is likely coloring my perception. I'm probably seeing ghosts here. I don't want to choose, but I HAVE to.
Have you spent any time shadowing or working with people actually doing those things? I was confident I wanted to be a lawyer right up until I spent a summer working in a law office and actually seeing what those guys do every day (At which point I got out like a streak of depressed, overweight lightning). Every job has a reputation, but the day-to-day is what really makes or breaks it.

Also, if it makes a difference, the PR guys I know spend way more time forcing companies to change their policies than they do spinning said policies. (The most greasy PR guy I know doesn't really spin anything, he spends his time coming up with band-aid policies for the companies; you know the type, 'We regret our exploitation of the local workforce, but look at our awesome daycare!")(still not great, but they're about fixing, not lying. Though I'll bet there still are plenty of PR guys who do basically lie, it could easily vary by industry, location, and scale).

It certainly is.

Also, I really want to make pasta now... tortellini or ravioli...  :lol
