((OOC remember technically the first trial has 48 hours before the teams are due back :devil))

Syllia shakes her head.  "None of the teams had only two members... where are the others?"

Kyle

The pale human brings his right hand to the chin, clearly studying the situation.

"Maybe they split up. It wouldn't seem wise to me but... They might have done something like that. About the trinket... I can use a spell to avoid for the bearer to be detected by other spells. It would last about 5 hours so I guess we should keep it for later on."
Believe.

Yeah, it does seem weird. Anybody else want to volunteer for carrying this thing? I don't mind, but my repertoire of defensive spells are very limited, so me carrying it might not be the best of plans. He looks to Toonces.

Is she dying? Should we help her? Did she attack you?

Then to the gnome:

And who the hell are you!?

You could try and put the totem in my bag, the extra-dimensional space might shield it from scrying. Even if it does not, I have faith in my defensive abilities Jazra pats his haversack slightly.

As for the girl; when we came into view, she summoned the lemures and seemed to be about to attack. She's a member of another team and carries a Calaspar slave ring without being a member of the family, so she should posses some information we might put to use.

He glances at the shredded corpse
The man's name was Velok, he used to show up at the Inverted Pyramid to buy information on these ruins. I'd like to know if he was the only one on their team to posses greater knowledge on this area. If so, our opponents may be at a great disadvantage right now. The hoarse-voiced man starts to glance towards the tunnel. We should move though; will someone be able to bring her?

"Like I said, I'm Thurl, and I'm here to make sure you win. I've also been posing as one of the wererat leader's second-in-commands, and I just got a message saying that they should all fall back to his chamber. It sounds like one of the other teams is having a go for the "prize" he has."

To the shredded man and girl lying on the ground he says "Calaspar, huh? Let them rot here, then. In fact, you should probably finish her off... after all, anyone who doesn't win is going to die, anyway. And you're going to win, right? So she's already as good as dead..."

"It is not that they are executed, so much as they are not expected to have survived. But if she were powerful enough to be in this competition.... she might be of use.

"If the rats are busy with another team..... it might be a good time to take care of the survivor and claim the prizes ourselves."

If she's Calaspar I say kill her, those people can't be trusted anyway. Red says as he draws his heavy pick and move over to the body. Getting a good grip on it.

"Wait!" Syllia interjects.  "Why don't we see if we can find out anything more about her team?  Maybe she can give us information, with the right kind of... incentive."

She's Calaspar, she'll probably lie, then ask for money, then lie, then beg for her life and then come up with a new lie. They take the "no honour among thieves to a whole new level" Red snarks at her. What incentive would you have to make her speak the truth? Spells? They've probably protected her against those.

She is blind; and has not been so for long. If we have the means to mimic the voice of one of her team members we might be able to fool her. We would probably have to be quick about it though. If it works we do not want her to realize there is something suspicious about us leaving her behind without reassuring ourselves that she is dead. Jazra looks at the group And if it comes to that; I may inform you that whoever said "Dead men tell no tales" was horribly misinformed.

Well, kill them, burn their remains and throw them in the sewers and they are unlikely to say much though. Red looks at him again and then goes. Well do you know any good ventriloquists? If you really want to she hasn't seen me, nor heard my voice. So if I awake her and tell her she'll be fine I might get some information from her. I'm pretty good at making people trust what I say.

"Information is vital to success and survival. Everyone should be quiet and see to our defenses; myself and Red will see to the extraction. Not that I doubt your abilities, Red, but I have much experience with information extraction... and you seem more eager to murder her. If we can control her, I'd rather do so.

Though we should get to a more.... secure and quiet."

Thurl nods but says "As you wish, but realize that with every passing second we're losing whatever advantage we might have had in cleaning up the survivors of the fight in the ratman leader's lair...

Perhaps one should stay to interrogate her, and the others move on?"

Well, I am more eager to murder her. We have 6 minutes to get her to a more secure area, unless we start pounding her some head trauma while she's down. I can start to pound her with the wooden part of my Pick, but she might wake up form it. Else we have to get her back to the manse quickly. And I'm partly opposed to that since I'd assume that her companions would attempt to scry on her location within the hour if they aren't already doing so. You are welcome to interrogate her without me, I don't care much either way, but if she escapes I'm gonna hold you personally responisble. The last remark is said with such a snark as to sound vaguely intimidating, but coming from a small lizard creature not much larger than a house-cat holding a pick the size of himself it just seems cute.

He looks at Thurl again finding his smile:
Well, it will take us some time to more back in the tunnel, I spread out some cantrips there so we wouldn't be surprised if this battle proved more difficult. I'm up for going there and checking out whether they are following us, if you can provide some cover we could hide our way back there and look out for them, getting reinforcements quickly if this fight provides out of control or if we assume we can take the opposition down that way.

"I agree that interrogating her might prove useful but first of all, I think we shouldn't stay still. I say we keep moving until we find a place we feel safer to interrogate Toonces and then move away. Right now, Calaspers might not be the only ones scrying our position."

That seems like a good idea. We should probably give Elle an update on the current situation as well.

I see two flaws in that plan, first, Calaspars scrying on her position will find our hideout. And secondly, how long will it take til she wakes up?
