Usually, but for out of combat only, really. If you want to heal in combat, which most of us agree is a waste of actions (unless you're like me and have extra actions), CLW gives better bursts of healing.

I'm asking because I have enough fora wand by myself and figured I'd buy one.

So, wands of Lesser Vigor are the best bang for your buck, correct?

Just shifts who has to take the pill....

Except I trust myself to take a pill regularly a lot more than I trust anybody else.

It amuses me that people preferred 2E non-weapon proficiencies.  My biggest problem with them was that if you didn't take one then your character couldn't do it, period.  You have to take swimming if you don't want to drown as soon as you're submerged in water.  Guh, I hated that so much.

I enjoyed the power level of 2E.  I never was in a group that allowed any of the Player's Option books, the most optimizing I did was dig through books and find fun Kits to take.

A thaumerai sounds to me like it should be a samurai who wields plutonium katanas.    :smirk

I don't understand this thread. Why do we need a word to express a complex thought when we already have ways of expressing it through clearer means -- saying wizard Knight or magic warrior or spellblade or made hammer?  Or even guy who trained in both combat and spells?

I think that reducing this concept to a single word -- one that will likely be drawn from out of context or made up and will likely never beyond this board -- is ridiculous.

Not everything is a TVTropes entry with nice boxed sides filled with examples and zigzags and subverted and averted.

Yes I know TVTROPES wasn't brought up before now, but it's the same thing that happens there.

...what?   :???

Do it piecemeal so it doesn't seem so daunting.

Jimmy pipes up.  "I'm not nervous, this is just like traveling back home.  You never know when a Pokémon might pop out and want to battle!"  He is visibly excited.

Amnon moves towards the stain of unlife that is assaulting him from range.  Upon reaching it, he calls upon the power of Dol Arrah to heal him.

He then smites the zombie, using his holy powers to attract the attention of the nearest reptile as well, as his very nature fights against the corruption that has been splattered upon him.
