Any chance we could get this going again in the near/mid future? ...
So here's what's been going on with me.  I narrowed down my headache situation to deriving from a new duty of my job that involved working with small, detailed objects close up for hours on end.  Each time I would do this, it would cause headaches that would ebb and flow for about 40 hours thereafter.  I would typically do this duty every-other day, MWF.  So, nearly constant headaches.

A silver lining to an approaching storm-cloud is that I won't be performing this duty much longer... because funding for my position has been lost.  I'm on the job hunt, though I haven't had many bites yet.  Thankfully my wife makes semi-decent money, and we have always been fiscally responsible, so have a sizable emergency fund.

I'll need to do the head-ache-forming duty a few more times over the next few weeks, but I'll work at getting this all ramped up again.  I have no intention of abandoning this campaign  ;)

Great! It's not a matter of needing reading glasses, is it? (I don't know how old you are... but I need them for that kind of stuff...)
I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.

I don't think so.  I'm 34.  I do have glasses (I've been nearsighted since the age of 20).  I can still see just fine out to about arms' length without glasses.

But, that doesn't mean I'm not wrong.  I've never used reading glasses before, so no clue if they would help or not.

You might consider trying it, although at your age it's probably unlikely. As people get older, the lenses of their eye get more stiff, preventing them from "accomodating" as well (accomodation = get squished into a rounder shape by the eye muscles to let you focus on close-up things). So they find it harder to see things very close to their faces. That's why you see older people holding the newspaper at full arms' length to read it... :P I can still read just fine without them (without holding the material at arms' length...), but if I want to work on something really small, I'll need the glasses. Otherwise I can't see it (if I hold it out too far, it's too far to see, and if it is too close I can't focus on it).

I can still focus on close things just fine.  I think it's just the extended periods of doing it.  Could be wrong, though.  But then again, when I was on vacation a couple weeks ago, despite reading for a few hours at a stretch, I didn't have a headache the entire time.  Don't know exactly what to make of it, I just know I'm looking forward to not having to do that duty any more.

I am having trouble imagining Thorgrim in a nurse's outfit handing out cookies after a medical exam. But I wish you well regardless. ;)

Note to self and ksb: Divine Companion's protection ability is not an immediate action. It is a swift action.

May I never again forget this when we get back...

Hey guys.  I've been thinking of you lately.   ;)

If any of you were regular readers of my Sunless Citadel campaign journal, you know that I've pretty much dropped off the planet for half a year due to a new job.  The job is hell.  My boss ran me a hairsbreadth from a mental breakdown, then later told me "I did that so I could learn where your breaking point was."  Yeah, not the best way to treat your employees.  :eh  There is also a coworker that I'm convinced is a psychopath, and she doesn't like me...

Anyway, I've finally had enough, and I quit the job.  My last day is Friday.  My wife earns just enough for us to break even, and we've got savings, so I'm going to be taking some time off from work to regain my sense of self, because honestly, I haven't felt like myself in months.  All my down time is spent either decompressing from this insane job, or running the live D&D games I host each week (and that was the only sense of self I was able to maintain).

I'm looking forward to slowly getting caught up on my Sunless Citadel campaign journal, and I also want to resurrect this game.  We are far from being finished with this story  ;)  It may take a few weeks for me to get everything I want in my life back up and running, so don't be surprised if it's a couple weeks before I start making regular posts to advance Mythic Sagas, but I will get there.

So I just spent the early part of the afternoon watching Wichita State lose in the NCAA tournament, and reading through the last 6 or 7 pages of the game thread.

When we last left off, it looks like phaedrus was running Skulda, as well as running Hymir part time (split with me; hey, NPC's are handy to get things moving sometimes (maybe I need more NPC's in my life... :thought).  I had fully taken over Bjartr as an NPC, and Risada, Nanshork, and SDK were each running Agni, Einar, and Thorgrim.  I see that dna1 did visit the boards a few days ago; I might message him later this week and see about him joining back on (which was his plan, originally).

I'll compose a short recap of events thus far, to help us all reacquaint ourselves with what is going on, and post it in the next few days.  Most recently, you had traveled north from Eyrrinberg to meet up with Bram, a Druid who watches over the demons trapped in the Stonehenge rings.  You just helped him killed a troll whore who had just been raped by a massive demon.

A recap would be good as I'm assuming that we're not doing another reboot.

Hopefully dna1 (and Risada) can/will come back and then we'll be set.
