[3.5] Souls
« on: October 31, 2013, 07:56:03 AM »
Perhaps you took a wrong turn traveling. Perhaps you didn’t know the portal was there, until you’d stepped through. Maybe you found that your front door lead somewhere that isn’t home.
However it happened, whether captured by creatures of the planes or stumbling through darkness to another place, you unlucky strays find yourselves together here, wherever here may be.

So, I’ve been thinking of starting a lower-level, smaller-scale campaign in the same setting as Legacy of the Makers, centered around (relatively) ordinary people who happened to stumble into the wrong part of the mutiverse.

Level 2, only homebrew base classes. Ask first, but most are allowed.
Average HP, 2 flaws 2 traits, moderate optimization. Other houserules are here
You will not start out with any items, but most mundane ones can be easily acquired.
It’ll probably be relatively slow paced, a few posts per week.

(Some race here, still thinking) Oslecamo's Mineral Warrior 1/ Martial Hexblade 1

If possible, swap White Raven from the Martial Hexblade discipline list with this discipline?

I checked the houserules, but did not see stat generation. Is it there somewhere?

Seems fine. Any out of combat utility? It looks a bit short on that.

Ops, left it here.

Basically? None. I might pick some random skills (Intimidate, Bluff, etc) but aside from that, this char would be a big lump of stony flesh.

Will think on more options, just in case.

Maybe find a more versatile martial class than hexblade, and use Witch Razor for similar fluff?

LG/LN ronin that has a great sense of honor. Ever read Sword of Truth? Similar thinking to Richard Rahl. Never really thought about race or anything else, I tend to look for the best race for the purpose and then merge that with the idea :)

the only thing I'm not a fan with the class? It pushes you into the twf style vs. katana as a primary weapon w 2 hands.
At one point, I was thinking of doing an ACF for the class for several other combat styles, but had many others more important things going on.

Right. Not sure how pseudo-Asian fits into the setting, but we'll work something out.

Not yet. Should I?

Refluff it as some sort of double strike?

Could easily be fluffed as a knight, yeah double strike or power grip 2x Str vs. 1.5x Str?

the series is my favorite, but still need to read the 2 newest books. Too much tv :P

Two players? Did I do something wrong?
(no offense to zook1shoe or Risada, but there's usually a lot of volunteers.

I'm curious. Let me look around at classes and I'll write something up.
Smile beautiful. It's not as bad as you think.

I'm game! The only question is what to play. There are a bunch of homebrew classes I'm interested in, and before sirp had to scale back his time, I had characters using most of them. Unfortunately, almost all of those games never got off the ground. So...

Naturalist
Sniper
Raveler (might not fit the setting)
Astronomer

Sniper is Ranged DPS/BFC. The other three are more utility.

At this point, I don't have a strong preference between these 4. Thoughts?

I'm interested but I'm not sure that I have time, I just dropped a few games for that very reason.

Then again, a lot of the games I'm still in are inactive...

Well... I am quiet because I am not sure anymore what to play with... Still thinking...

Expect to be indoors alot, so maybe not naturalist. Astronomer's got [sheltered] conjunction, so that's still work.

Mind if I played one of these? http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=273748
Looks fine; which stunts are you planning on?
