My interest is high, but free time is non-existent.  :-\
I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.

Oh, I apologize. Classes were knuckling down a bit, but it's sorted out now. Should I ask Prime for a board?

I do tend to post a little irregularly, which I should mention.

Sounds good to me. Any thoughts on adventure or starting area/level, just in terms of character building?

Actually, i've ran this game before, so I could always port my houserules for your perusal. Nothing major, just buffing a couple weaker classes.

Starting level is really up to you guys. I'm not too fond of first level, but i'd run it if you guys wished. As far as location, I always liked Tyr as one. It's a place of relative safety in an unforgiving world.

Taking a look at the house rules would be good.  :p

Certainly wouldn't argue with Tyr, either. The Silt Sea has always fascinated me as a setting, but it's not exactly safe with all the giants around.

You could always start as crew on a silt skimmer of Balic. It'll certainly be a unique approach, since people generally don't go to Ballic.

What setting fluff would you prefer, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd edition? The big difference is that the Dragon and several sorceror kings were killed off between 1st and 2nd, and some of the...less sensical background details added.

I'd suggest 3rd edition, since that's the edition we're playing in, at least.

Now, is there anything in specific people want to use/are thinking of? I could certainly make something more viable if needed.

Psionics or arcanist here. I'll wait to see what the party composition is before making a final choice.

I'd be interested in playing the party's skillmonkey. Dark Sun seems like the perfect setting to take a break from spellcasting.

Also, what level is your preferred starting point? You mentioned that its not first, so It'd be cool to know what you like, too.

I could start at any level you are comfortable with. Athas in particular is absolutely brutal, so a 1st level party could be in for quite the shocker.

I've been looking for an opportunity to try Shadow Templar / Swiftblade like I had mentioned earlier, but that only works if Andropinis has already been imprisoned in the Black. It's also not a particularly strong build - it's a gish without persist or any shenanigans to make stuff last longer...

Actually, on that point, what's the policy on dead PCs/rejoining the party? Since it's Athas and someone is going to die.

As someone will almost assuredly die, I don't see the problem with allowing people to be revived/new PC's at the party level.

2-3 often works for me - gives enough HP to survive a shot or two, but unless you're damn careful, everything is still brutal.

As someone will almost assuredly die, I don't see the problem with allowing people to be revived/new PC's at the party level.

Good, cause we all know it's going to happen.

On another note, does anyone have the complete Athas.org collection? I thought I did, can't find it, and their website currently isn't letting me download anything.

So... Elan Psion using one of the PP replenishing tricks, or Changeling who goes into Warshaper at the earliest possible entry?

Honestly, I'd rather start at a higher level... I feel like I'm in a lot of low-level games at the moment, and I'd like a change of pace.

Not sure how the rest of you feel about that though.
