The TGoH rules for proxies are very different than the original rules in Deities and Demigods. Notably, the proxy template no longer grants any divine ranks or quasi-deity status. One upside of this is that any immunities granted by the proxy template cannot be bypassed with a rank check like deific immunities can.

So why is this using epic rules? Epic is gross. Why not have this as a non-epic, non-to challenge? I half thought about making this question a new thread, but I don't want to clutter. Whoever can answer this should PM me, as I didn't even know this board existed...

The challenge is an epic level one, because it uses the version of Dispater made by the Dicefreaks. Originally the whole exercise was made to see how ridiculously unkillable he is if played correctly. Turns out, quite unkillable indeed.

zook1shoe: I'll consider starting this again. Been away from D&D for a while, so I'd need to see if I still have my notes and whatnot.

Is this still going?

I haven't been following for a long time, did anyone make it? Or anyone get close at all? I thought Carn had a good shot...

Far as I recall, carnivore never got to start his attempt. Under my management, not a whole lot of progress. Might be picking this up again if I recall my D&D well enough.

A quick question:

How much HP does the Iron Tower of Dis have?

Or, more accurately, how much HP does the material comprising it have per inch, how much hardness does it have, and how thick are the walls?

Because I think I've figured out a way to kill everything on Dis in a round, but it might not even scratch the tower...

The Tower of Dis is an artifact so it has a specific method of destruction. As far as I can tell, that information is not part of this challenge.

The tower itself is made from iron however no challenger has been able to make a scratch on it and spells like ironguard did not allow the player to pass through it.

Different question: how much HP does Dis have?

Yes, the plane.

Aren't planes infinitely large? It'd have an infinite amount of material, all with varying but >0 HP per inch, giving the plane infinite HP.

Alright, so I think I can destroy it. Maybe.

Depends; does sonic damage ignore hardness? I can't remember.

Dang, I just remembered that destroying the plane of Dis does not count as a win condition.

After all, if there is no Dis, then you can't kill Dispater on Dis, can you?

I have thought about it over and over, and couldn't think of a way to kill him...

A wish or epic spell can find him.

ProfessorCurly created the following 2 epic spells/powers which could be of use. Combine these with Cosmic Connection, Improved Overchannel, and Consumptive Field to get the desired caster level.
