"Say Wark, do you think that Great Ulfe will fight the trogies again?"

"Dunno Thark, Burdug doesn't like it and she has magic thingies." The Orc spits, "If Ulfe was really so great he'd teach the womankin her place."

"Carefull Wark, otherwise the Orge might just paste you, we are in troubles enough already being out here in the cold is bad enough, much better to stand inside with a bow."

Wark grumbles something too softly to hear though Nordor does think he hears the word cowardice.

"Besides I wanna play with the prisoners too so dun go getting me, in more troubles."

"Say isn't Gundark taking a very long time?"

Deciding he better get while the getting is good, Nordar heads back to tell the others what he's overheard. "They've got prisoners, and an ogre. I'm still not sure how many of them there are, though."

Listening to the dwarf's explanation, the cat elf's ears drop. "Awww. Mhh, it sounds they are way too alert to sneak up on them and ambush them." She studies the mountain around them. "Maybe we can climb up and go around them instead?" She gives a little shrug. "Or we could just rush in, I don't think the sentries would be too hard to overcome. But then the rest might hole up in their camp, or cave, or whatever they got and threaten the prisonsers and such. And depending on how it works out, fighting an ogre in enclosed space might end up bothersome." She pauses for a moment. "Mhhh, I don't think we have any magic or what not so that we can take out the sentries subtly, nuh? Maybe a silence spell?"

Morjhan thinks for a second.  "If we're going to go into combat I need to make sure that my breath won't hurt you."  He then proceeds to touch everyone, sometimes frowning and touching the same person more than once and muttering to himself about his armor being annoying.

"There, now you are all protected from the elements including the ones that I breathe.  As for subtlety I can make everyone stealthier although not by a lot.  I can also climb up a tree and breathe fire on them."

Hjalmur nods to Morjhan, with an accompanying "Thanks." as the magic sinks into his bones, then draws his greathammer, claws curling around the haft. "We can split them head to toe, subtlety won't be too necessary."

Loot wondered about this.
-Oh, you are all on to this murdering and pillaging business, I see?
It though about it some more. Not really caring about that kind of ethics... a good banker never really did, but it was indeed an opportunity for the party to make some money they would certainly need to store someplace, or maybe invest?
-Sounds profitable.

If they all got slaughtered, the orcs maybe would make good clients, but that was doubtful.
It wasn't such a big stroll back to town if it came down to it but people there were so darn poor the odds of finding decent business opportunity that had as much potential as this one were very thin. He'd have to move on to the bigger cities or wait it out. After all, these folks biting the dust was a very dreadful scenario. Some aggressive assistance might be required, even for those who hadn't taken the life insurance.

(don't have an icon for nanshork. and spent enough time struggling to get this map made.)

You sneak up on the orcs, but the last 100ft are fairly open, and so you decide to just charge straight ahead, at the 3 orcs clustered around a fire. you also know roughly where the illusory wall is that hides the entrance, though what is beyond it is anyones guess. The orcs see you and shout to raise the alarm but the sentries are unprepared and scrambling to get their weapons in order. As you approach Enar's cat begins to cough and she stops to tend to it. Hjalmur also smells something foul. (Hjalmur roll fortitude DC 8.)

((OOC: Combat will work as follows, it;s the monsters turn, then ~24hours or until all the players go then it is the monsters turn again. the 24 hours is a bit squishy depending on when I can post, it will likely be earlier in the evening than this.))

The walking chest thought he'd also stay with the master to care for it though after the orcs sounded the alarm there seemed to be more pressing matters.
Losing no time, he'd stride onward and find himself a comfy spot alongside the edge. There he could do what he did best; wait for opportunities.

A bit bewildered about the rather direct approach her companions choose, Azumi raised her readied Longbow and fires an arrow at the rearmost sentry.

Longbow attack
Rolled 1d20+8 : 13 + 8, total 21

Longbow damage
Rolled 1d6+5 : 1 + 5, total 6

Morjhan follows after the box, unable to be effective in combat at this range.

Hjalmur charges forwards, shaking his head to clear it from the unpleasant smell.

The dwarf fires off a couple of quick shots from a bow that looks much too big for him.

Within seconds all three orcs die to your arrows, though Hjalmur is close enough that he can hear other orcs raising the alarm.

(Players turn again. The orcs had AC 14 so phaedrusxy rolled just enough.)

The cat elf cautiously moves forward, holding her bow at the ready and catching up with the others. (5 east, 35 north)

The dwarf trots up towards the action with bow in hand as well. (He's going to sprint as far forward as possible.)

Hjalmur will just stay in front of the remainder of the group, keeping himself as a meatshield of sorts.

The box sped up and reached the spot the orc left from the fire-pit once stood. He would now be at the perfect spot to enjoy the warmth of the flames.

((Nanshork has not posted but I will assume he just advances.))

Arriving at the ledge where the sentries where Hjalmur curiously sticks his head through the illusory rock-wall to examine the path ahead. Broad, shallow steps lead up a steep fissure to the south and turn east into the mountainside. Here, a broad entrance has been carved out of the stone. Marble steps cracked with age and veined with green moss lead up to a strong double-door of carved stone, 8 feet wide and almost 10 feet tall. Along the path are four arrow slits high in the wall and narrow, and two arrow slits high on the north and south walls command the entrance area.

Out of the arrow slits along the path a handfull of arrows rain on both Loot and Hjalmur, but they bounce harmlessly off their armor. You can hear the orcs raising the alarm deeper in the fortress, while there are just a handfull of orcs now there will be more soon.

The volley of arrows was clear enough a message for Tool. He laid still where he was and figured keeping calm and warm was the way to go for the time being.

He wouldn't move and wait it out. He'd also keep his lid slightly open and let the gold within glitter off.
The gold had a power of its own. He could well understand its pull - better than anyone, in fact.
A seed of greed into the eyes, to grow within the heart, which then forced the legs to take one step at a time like a mechanism assembled for that purpose alone. Usually that one step that takes them off the cliff.

He stared eyelessly into the golden flames, dreamy. For a moment then he forgot about the orks.
