Recruiting for a SciFi old-school D&D game
« on: March 20, 2016, 01:39:11 PM »
Roll20 link.

White Star is an OSR (Old School Revolution) retroclone which derives inspiration from Swords & Wizardry, which in turn derives inspiration from 1974 D&D. It is designed to incorporate science fantasy elements and Sword & Planet genre (think John Carter of Mars) in addition to pure sci-fi, and the framework of its system is more cleaned up than the Edition of its inspiration. Ascending Armor Class is a thing, for example.

Star Quest: the Neutron Talisman is a White Star-compatible adventure for 4 to 6 PCs of 2nd level. The party is hired by an organization to visit the lush garden world of Norvia to ensure the safe retrieval of an archeologist team from alien ruins. Things aren't exactly as they seem, as some nefarious organization is intent on finding out said ruins' secrets for themselves.

The Neutron Talisman is part dungeon crawl, part open-world city and wilderness exploration, with some sidequests tangential to the main plot.

On Roll20 about one week from now, Friday March 25th at 6 PM EST (11 PM GMT, 3 PM PST, 4 PM Mountain Time). Plan on using Discord App for voice chat, as it works better than Roll20's default microphone system, but I'm not averse to sticking with the base.

If you're interested post a response in the Roll20 place.
