One of you jerks is doing it. I know I'm not alone in my misery.

I was supposed to but one look at my course guide pointed out that all my deadlines are in November. The reality struck me hard.

I'm supposed to be doing it. Massive depression means I haven't come close to meeting a single day's word count since the first day. *sigh* But I'm still trying, mostly because writing makes me less depressed.

I "only" got about 12,000 words done last year, and I can tell I'll be even busier this time. So I _might_ participate, but if I do, I'll probably just pick up where I left off last year. Shhh.

Being lazy, which is my reason, is not an excuse. It is an explanation or a reason.

I'm doing NaNoWriMo.

I averaged about 700 words a day, but I managed to hit 1,500 yesterday.  I have no idea whether or not I'll hit the 50,000 mark by the end of November, though.

Hey, good for you! Have you tried hooking up with a local writing group?

I haven't considered the option.  It's more of a personal project for me.

For me too, but you'd be shocked how helpful writing groups can be in just getting you to sit down and pound out that 1,667. Mine have been a bunch of folks challenging each other to word wars, which I find very helpful.
