I'm checking here to see when we are ready to start.

Dylan expressed interest but noted that he was busy.  Do you three want to get started and I can add him in?

Do you want me to see if there are any other gamer buddies interested, or are you ok with a party of 3 for now?

I'm ok with a party of three. We can always add people later. It'll be more "chaotic".  ;)

Actually, it'll be a party of 4 since we'll probably be dragging Justin's body from room to room, whether he is actively playing or not.

I'm cool with starting now, but I'm not strong enough to carry Justin.  One of the fighters will have to do it...

Are we supposed to post our first actions in response to the prologue, or is that just setting the stage?

I was planning to follow up with a "you are now in an inn" joke, but ran out of time. Feel free to act either having just arrived or after finishing your meal.

edit: damn auto-complete

In case anyone was wondering, you can add on the the previous post if you like.  There is no need to wait for a response from me.

If you would like to do something that requires a roll, you can roll it yourself in the rolling thread and add the result to your post, or state your intent and I will be happy to do the rolling when I update.

I realized something as I was thinking about my next post.  Pull your armor penalty out of the skill total and put it in parenthesis on your sheet, since these skills are much more broad and the penalty will not apply to all situations.

Examples: "Listen" and "Spot" roll into Subterfuge, and your armor won't affect those, breaking a door down is Physical, etc.

From a distant land a voice is heard:

Someone put the dwarf to bed so I can get back to playing!

Kidding, of course.   :P

Feel free to post whatever Caerus may be dreaming about.  Who knows, some of it might come true someday.  :eh

That's a good idea, but I hope these don't come true.  Caerus is in a fragile state of mind right now and that will make for some crazy dreams.    Maybe when he finds some treasure and gets delusions of grandeur, those could come true instead?   :D

BTW, the link below is an example of what happens when you decide that a simple die roll is insufficient to display the drama unfolding.

History: It was a zombie apocalypse game, and my character, Chuck, was bitten the first night and fought the infection for a few days before this.  Chuck became a firefighter because he needed to rescue his brother from a house fire when he was a kid.  Burned half his face in the process.

Sounds like we're ready to move on to morning. Unless someone has something to add, I'll move on to the next scene.

Is it OCD if I check in every couple hours to see if the next chapter is up?   Maybe it just means that I really need to find a job.... :rolleyes

You could hit the "notify" button and feel the need to check your e-mail constantly instead.

I'll have this scene's conclusion up tonight, and the next scene set up to continue.  I feel were in a good place right now, and that we're having a bit of fun.  Do you all agree?

Thanks, but I've been clean of e-mail addiction for a couple years.   :D

Definitely enjoying the game.  I like that I can think about the character's response for a bit without worrying about slowing the pace of play.  It feels more like storytelling and less like improv acting.

I think it's been good so far. Nice to have an opportunity to play. My time window to check on the thread and to post is a little limited sometimes, so I tend to be a little slow on the responses. Did we establish a max time to respond?
