Milo looks slightly crestfallen,

He shook his head and looked at Lazaro, "More than likely. Exciting times, eh?"

Saul says "Sounds like we might meet our Killoren neighbors at night. Perhaps we should invite Makala over here, since we're talking about the nature-venerating Killoren." He tries to wave and get her attention.

Makala notices Saul, and go to him.

"May I help you with something, Saul? The dwarves are not convinced we do not want to disrupt everything around here?"

"We were discussing the Killoren, and I thought perhaps you should be here. The dwarves say they mostly come out at night, and that we should probably prepare to meet them then."

"Killoren, right..." Makala thinks for a moment. "So we are going to ambush them when they come for us and get them by surprise, or you are planning on talking with them?"

"Very well. I will spread the word that everyone should get ready for a possible attack by night, and no one should leave our 'base' after dusk."

If not stopped, makala will go to the shifters and warn them.

Before Makala can walk away, Saul says "While you are all here my friends, do any of you have any ideas about how we can hide everyone at dusk, in case of a raptoran attack? It is quickly approaching, and if we need any preparations for that, we should get them underway. Do any of you have any magical talents which might work for that? Or should we get those skilled in the ways of stealth and the wilderness to try and hide everyone?"

"I don't know we can feasibly hide this many people with this short of a notice. Maybe we should salvage every possible thing we can, and beg mercy from the dwarves for the night, and then we can start early tomorrow hiding and fortifying."

"I'm not sure that's any more feasible. Who knows if they have room for us? And the heat was nearly unbearable in there, even just in the entrance where we were... I can ask, though."

"A night of nearly unbearable heat, or many deaths if the Raptoran attack the several hundred of us here? We may not have another choice."

"Rock and a hard place." Milo mutters, "Hey, Saul, could you ask Olgier how many raptorans patrol? If he knows, that is."

"Assuming the dwarves will not, or cannot, help us, we need to find out who among the survivors has woodslore or practice hiding to help us throw together something to help hide from aerial scouts. I'm pretty sure the killoren will likely find us either way, but if we can stall the raptoran..." Darius looks back towards the wreckage as he says the last, as though to show what he thought the likelihood of success as being.

In common, Saul says "Yes, I think that contact with the killoren is inevitable, but hope that conflict with them isn't. It sounds like if the dwarves can't or won't take us in, that hiding from the raptorans for a long period of time is also unlikely. So perhaps we should consider just preparing to battle them, if they show up. Given that most battles tend to be short and fierce, perhaps Lazaro could use his magic to hide many of our people during the battle, while the rest try to drive away or kill the attackers. Of course, this depends on that even being a reasonable assumption. If they tend to show up in large numbers, it might not be. So I guess we need to talk to the dwarves... They probably grow tired of us ignoring them and talking amongst ourselves, anyway."

Then in draconic, he addresses Olgier and his allies again "I apologize for leaving you out of that discussion, but many among us it seems do not share a tongue with you, and we have much to discuss amongst ourselves.

We were discussing what our options are when it comes to possible raptoran attacks at dusk. What size are the typical raptoran patrols? And what happens if they are engaged in combat? Do they flee and return with reinforcements? I don't think we are able to hide all of our people for any extended length of time, so we were discussing whether it is reasonable to try and fight off the raptorans."

Olgier thinks a moment, and replies to Saul, "It's indeed a shame none of you speak the tongue of dwarves, gnomes, or halflings, and we're required to fall back on the tongue of the Dragon; it probably helped foster our distrust of your wild tale of a shipwreck.

The raptorans we've seen have patrols six strong, going back at least a score of years.  Typically we see two archers, to divers, and a psionically gifted one - always in charge, that one seems to be.  The last could typically be any of the preceding, or a healer of some sort.  Our experiences have been that if they're engaged in combat, we die, so can't rightly judge if they'd call for help in a pinch."

Saul translates for the rest of his friends, and then says to Olgier "I also speak the tongue of giants, if that would be preferable to you. And I'm sure Milo speaks the halfling tongue."
