Quite a bit of people showed interest on my other campaign here, but were put of by the high power level.

So, at the request of one of those people, Scout89, I'm offering the chance of  running a low-end version of my other campaign. Lower level, lower homebrew, lower power overall, making it easier for people to make their characters.

Recaping fast-paced rules
-Each round takes 1 week tops. Whetever in combat or deciding which passage on the dungeon to take, whoever didn't specify an action whitin 7 days of the latest DM post skips their actions. You can provide an "auto-script" for your character's actions beforehand, and active players can also take control of your character if you're not around. If you think you could handle an even faster pace, let me know.
-Also 1 week for character creation. You can flesh out the details as the campaign starts, but I expect race, levels, HP, skills and 90% of your gear and feats to be decided whitin 1 week of the campaign's basics having been consolidated.

Potentially interested.  It's just that anytime anyone starts bringing up your Touhou homebrew it ends up being a super high power level game.  I've become very wary of Touhou.   :P

Well, that would fall under the "keep homebrew to a minimum" I believe. :p

I'm building a human fighter specialized in ranged combat.

I suppose I'll do a Newtype Bard//Ship Captain (since if we don't work out who'll do this if we survive to there at the start, we'll probably get end up with two ships or something weird. @_@) if you need extra numbers. Been meaning to make a bard for a while, honestly. :D

If numbers are needed, I'll go Incarnate with a some sorta (possibly tank) focus. Or maybe Dragonfire Adept if that works better with the party.

On second thoughts... no. Not with a requirement that half of everyone's initial abilities be nigh identical and then, if you want to differentiate, you're forced to multiclass. Low power or not, can't really say I'd be happy with class choice taken out of my hands. :/

I'd like to take this chance to point out that the battleship's size is static, but you've given mecha the ability to get larger with levels. >.>

Aw, c'mon, I even expanded the Real Robot to have 4 mecha choices at first level, then there's also what arsenal and what feats you pick plus you still get to pick what to use in the other gestalt half.

Unless Scout89 would be fine with you being the odd member out. He was the one requesting that specific rule after all. :p

Battleship size can now be changed at every level up.

We're going to need a base one way or another (though a rule that punishes you for not playing a real pilot seems arbitrary), and some way of getting around.

The issue I'm still seeing: level 16, Colossal Super Robot. All space taken up.

I could see our squad of mecha recruits having a battleship recruit to ferry us around.

Then your robot gets to carry the battleship.

@oslecamo: It's your call, boss!

Guys, I think Growth should be more expensive or even out of the table. It's kinda strange seeing a mech increase its size. Even if it's a Super Robot.

Then if you don't mind removed the "All must be real pilots" rule. You just need to be some base pilot/captain class. They're suposed to be all roughly the same power level after all.

The issue I'm still seeing: level 16, Colossal Super Robot. All space taken up.
Be a ship captain/super robot multiclass. :p

I could see an argument for more expensive the more times you pick it. However it will stay in one form of the other, because robots growing in size is a staple of several series.

Ok! :cool

One question: outside of the robots, what kind of equipment is available? I mean, are there plasma/laser guns, reflec armor, special goggles, etc. Or are we limited to SRD equipment?

EDIT: More questions:
1. What are the advantages of a real robot over a super robot? Because I don't see that many
2. Can we trade basic mecha weapons for other weapons?

Again, stuff is refluffled. You don't buy a puny crossbow, you buy a plasma Handgun. You don't buy a chainshirt, you buy carbonfiber frame.

You can also pick modern/futuristic guns from the DMG.

1. Real Robots have more arsenal space and get more stuff combined, they just can't cherry-pick all their stuff.
2. No.

I'm really curious about this mecha prestige class that you mentioned in the other fast paced thread...

Okay, I'm more in now.

I just need to figure out what to gestalt with...

Be a ship captain/super robot multiclass.

Does that actually work? The ship is not a super robot. @_@

Getter Robo and TTGL come to mind. Making it more expensive would be a little strange (it's already limited by HD and not without its own drawbacks)

Anyway, I'll write up the Bard//Captain later. Shouldn't take long when starting at level 1. :p

How does the Amplifier work with a Binder who will have different abilities it wants to amplify on different days?

You simply de-equip the Amplifier and re-equip it again.

Check ship/super robot multiclassing rules.

Alright, I'm thinking of either Binder//Real Robot or something else, Binder refluffed to be experimental nanobots or something like that.

I'm not tied to the idea but I can't think of anything else I'd rather do unless it's Super Robot//Real Robot...

Edit: Can you de-equip arsenal choices and re-equip them every day without being in a base?
