[D&D 3.5] Low tier Campaign
« on: November 15, 2011, 10:20:24 AM »
So... This is an idea I got while the boards where down and that I proposed on Mythweavers where it didn't get much love (something I expected, I guess).

The idea is the following: I would love to play a game using Low tier classes, specifically, Tier 5 and below.

I'd like a party where everyone tries to get the most out of these underused classes, facing standard challenges and adventuring, possibly from low (1-4) to high (14-17) levels.

Just so you get the idea:

6(3+3NPC): Aristocrat, Commoner, Divine Mind (CP 9), Warrior, Samurai (CW 6), Truenamer (TM 198)

5(14+2NPC): Battledancer (DC 26), Divine Mind (with Web Enhancements), Eidolon (Gh 16), Expert, Fighter, Healer (MH 8), Knight, Lurk (CP 13), Magewright (ECS 256), Mariner (LotT 13), Mlar (Dungeon Magazine 100 256-257 githyanki section), Monk, Ninja (CAd 5), Noble (DCS 50), Paladin, Samurai (with Imperious Command feat), Soulborn (MoI 25), Soulknife, Swashbuckler (CW 11)

I know even finding the players won't be easy, let alone a DM willing to play something like this, but I asking won't hurt.

 :D

Oh, you're not running it? I might have fun messing around with a ninja, but I'd want to play, not DM.

No, I'd like to try a Divine Mind.

Let's hope to find a DM!

I also wanted to try a Healer for some time, so If we find a DM class won't be a problem.

We could do dual Divine Minds they shouldn't clash too much.

I might be interested. What method will be used to generate ability scores and HP?

Dunno, we still need to find a DM.

I am down for a game, but... no DM makes things hard, eh?
I'm good for a Healer, Knight, maybe samurai.

I wouldn't mind playing either, but it's not like it matters until a DM volunteers, hmm?

Hmm. Wouldn't really need to adjust encounters at those tiers. In fact a modual would do nicely. I'll think about it. If I do volunteer it will be both after the holidays and it would be Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk (the only modual I own).

But yeah, we'll see. If I had to peg odds, I'd say 40% chance things will work out correctly (or close enough) for me to have the sanity to spare. So if someone who knows they can do it wants to DM instead, I would not be heartbroken.
Hmm.

I may be interested as well(as a player).

Though I could try running Pathfinder - Rise of the Rune Lords.

I would totally play in this as a Knight or a Ninja (I like those classes a damn good amount, thank you very much.)

Or a Paladin/Ninja. That would be sexy.

Lurk could be fun in this environment, depending on PrC access.

Hmm the tier system actually qualifies a truenamer with tricks to buff his truespeak checks into the skies is a tier 4, as such, I'd probably have to play something else, I'm thinking Paladin/Samurai/Monk multi-class with Imperious Command

SIR Bruce, if you please.  Of stately Wayne Manor.

You'll know him by his dark armor, the fact that he fights with a bat-tleaxe, and is accompanied by a cleric named Brother Robin.  ("Holy ____________, Sir Bruce!")

Robin is only an Adept, my friend, and is my apprentice in the ways of bat-assery.
