I'm pretty sure the Russian deal is equipment malfunction. They delayed reporting it for over a year and it hasn't been reported since so it's pretty much like another wow incident. Besides, aliens are a statistical probability and I really don't need a signal to confirm that. What I need is someone to invent an FTL drive so the messages won't take 95+ years to reach them (180 years per question-reply!). Could you imagine if Earth started dating another planet, trying to decide to wait a "day" as you need seem too overly interested would take like ten thousand years :p

OK so update time. I finished my PhD in June, then a week later I moved from NJ to MD. I started a new job mid-July. Things are crazy, and good. Kids started school last week, and are starting to settle into a routine.
