Halfaz8 stands ready following Ror8.

Now group8 is out into storage area EE, about 60 feet north of location8 in the corridor, not quite in sight of location8 by moving to the side just out of line; it’s not directly ‘visible’ to Tremorsense.

Ror8 thinks “BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!” and the floor bucks. A staggering blast of sound and wind hits group8, immediately followed by the clatter of a stinging rain of stone shrapnel that splashes against the walls of the passage and washes across the polished stone floor, rattling against the bars of the nearby storage cages. Randomly, some of it bounces underfoot as it spreads out in an arc from the mouth of the corridor, making walking treacherous.

In the corridor, a brief, continuous crashing of rock tumbles from the ceiling onto the floor, with thud after thud nearly deafening to Tremorsense. The sound slows to a gravel spill, then stops. Fading echoes from the corridor suggest it is now a dead end, or mostly so.

A choking cloud of rock dust envelops the party, making it hard to draw a breath.

Immediately afterward, four more shockwaves arrive, rattling bones and teeth from more distant explosions, first from the west, and then from the north and again from the west.

All info goes on the Link.

Yet another shockwave arrives rattling bones and teeth, and jangling storage cage bars all up and down area EE in a susurration of sound, loud in the silence, from another explosion to the northwest.

All info goes on the Link.

Halfaz8 changes his appearance into that of an Efreeti to avoid Forbidance damage. He intends to stay in that form.

{Ror8 on the link} We might as well get moving too.

Ror8 will discharge an Advanced Circle of Good Hope coupled with a Spell Ritual: Bastion of Good, and then begin to move further into the Storage Area.

Further in, yes. One basic decision: East side or west side of EE? Then within that section of EE, see the map and describe a direction; it's a complex space with lots of options.

West side.  Moving methodically East to West across the grid, and then back the other way one street further North, etc...

Or, since we're expendable anyway... {Ror8 on the link} Should we split into 2 groups to search more of the Storage Area?  We're all on the link, so whatever we find will get to everyone regardless of what happens to us.  Opinions?

"Good idea, Ror8! This way we will cover more ground."

Group8 decides to split up, and fan out across the storage area EE, covering both the east and west sections simultaneously, methodically east to west across the grid, then back the other way one street further north.

Ror8 takes the west side as he stated on the Link, and Halfaz8 takes the east side, splitting off as he stated on the Link. Others accompanied them or followed their own way.

As they fly away from Ror8, some find themselves able to see again, leaving his Invisibility Purge, Circle, and fog cloud behind.

The storage area EE is still, and pitch black as well, but with a combination of Darkvision, Blindsense, Blindsight, and Tremorsense, everyone continues into the darkness, sharing their various perceptions on the Link. With this coordination, and without the fog, the search picks up speed a bit.

Many of the storage rooms and cages stand open. Most are completely empty; a few have crumpled wooden casks, loose wooden box slats, and other packing debris on the floor.

Except for the fresh dust from the explosion at the south end of EE, there isn’t much dust on the floor at all, disturbed or otherwise, though the floor and cages are not clean; there no lack of dust between cage bars and on the top faces of crosspieces.

No sign of captive slaves to rescue, nor personal items. And no paperwork, Hobbits with clipboards, or other niceties of well organized, well run storage.

Upon reaching the south-most exit in the west wall of area EE, just north of the west end of the third street, Ror8 hears the faintest sound of rushing, splashing water echoing in the corridor distantly to the north, barely audible in the deep silence.

Halfaz8, Sheerak8, and Vir8 continue to explore the east section while Ror8, Tanatou8, Halt8 continue to explore the west section.

Halfaz8, Sheerak8, and Vir8 reach the northern tip of the east section, and see on the combat map that they can help the rest of group8 to finish the much larger west section by Earthgliding directly west from the northern tip of the east section to a tiny area connected to the west section, and then pass through into the west section to continue working their way north.

When they Earthglide through to the west, they find their progress to be almost painfully slow. The rock is so dense they have to force their way through. It takes much longer than anticipated but eventually they emerge and join Ror8, Tanatou8, and Halt8.

Group8 is more than three quarters done with searching area EE thoroughly, but haven’t found it to be different from their initial impression: cleaned out in a hurry. No sign of slaves to rescue, yet.

They continue to follow their instructions, to complete the search.
