As Kat flutters down on the rooftop near to Mevra's abode, she can hear a number of people moving throughout the structure, various tenants of the rickety old apartment building creaking about as they pass from one wood-floored room to another. But the movements of those within strike her as strangely subdued, as if there is a tinge of fear overlaying what they do. Perhaps they were informed that Mevra was a brutal murderer, after the day's events, and are hoping that she doesn't return, or that she doesn't kill any of them if she does. Whatever the reason, it is not a building that exudes confidence or happiness, even from a rooftop across the way.

Even if there was no one from the guards watching, Kat reasoned that the other tenants might report her if she questioned them. Having no reason to linger, Kat moves on towards the palace zoo. When she arrives, she will land near her dwelling (a large tent near the back) and resume her normal form. Her goal is to find one of her parents.

No danger noticed. The animals in the zoo are engaged in their normal nighttime activities and do not sound disturbed.

She approaches the tent. "Hello? Is anyone awake?"

[Stratovarius]

A sleepy voice answers from within. "Who... who's out there? Kat, is that you?"

"Yes. It is me, Kat. I am alright...but my friend." she starts to say, but has trouble finding the words. "I don't suppose you've heard anything about that?"

[Stratovarius]

"I heard something about an incident in the market, but people were telling all kinds of wild stories, none of them made sense. That wasn't you, was it?" There was a gasp as the sentence finished.

"No, it was a group wearing cloaks. I saw them. But...but the guard...they think Mevra..." she says, fear for her friend in her voice.

[Stratovarius]

"It's alright dear, you better come inside and tell me all about it. I'll put the tea on, since it sounds like you're going to be here a while."

[skydragonknight]

"I can't stay too long...but alright." Kat yields and goes inside.

[Stratovarius]

Cantra shook her head as she contemplated the scene described by the two women. "Let's think about this logically. If the damp was part of the abduction, it had to be done for a reason. So what do we know about water based spells? Anything like a waterspout wouldn't really help, so it had to be something that helped the abduction..." She paused, and then muttered to herself. "Haven't got a clue what that could be though. Ugh."

The long and the short is she tells the basic info of what's going on and that she's going to be gone for a while. She'll leave out the part about clawing a guard into unconsciousness.

Too bad the spot/listens around Mevra's place were so poor...this ended up a pure RP trip with very little intel gained. Oh well. She'll return to the others via owl-hopping.

If no one has any more questions for the witnesses, I'll move forward until Kat comes back.

Mevra ponders this. "Could the kidnappers have been... wet? Evil, kidnapping water elementals? ... Ok, yes, I realized how absurd that sounded as it escaped my mouth. Are there water-based spells that can make someone teleport? My familiarity with standard spellcasting is... limited. Specialized, more-like."

[Stratovarius]

The spellsinger looked helpless, standing in the middle of the room. "There's not much I can tell you on that front, either. I am hardly the equivalent of an erudite arcanist, merely someone with a few magical touches to her voice. But mayhaps we need someone who is familiar with standard spellcasting. They might be able to answer our questions!"

[VennDygrem]

"Ok, great! Who do we know?" Mevra looks around. Mul-Morgen floats wordlessly, tilting her head a bit as the Necromancer scanned the room in thought.

"Hmm... Oh. I don't... really know anyone other than us."

"Okay, fine. Our situation is lousy. But maybe our gracious host can help us. It's in his interest too!"
