Yes, except that many magical items simply aren't available - psionic equivalents (if they exist) are. Also need to note that in Dark Sun, Psionics are Different - Spellcraft, spells, etc. do not work on magic and vice versa. As a Psion though, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

CPsi is my runaway winner as least popular book from WotC - it's a screaming abortion of all the things that made the XPH great.

Also should point out the other skills that DS3 added - the most important one is probably Warcraft if a melee type wants to use it.

I tend to agree. Complete psi sucks. Off hand, I think the only things I've ever used are a couple feats and maybe a power or two.

Assuming you cannot, I'll swap out a power known for sustenance. That way a couple power points and I'll never need to eat or drink again.

Here are the character generation rules, so I don't have to keep referring back to the recruiting thread (and for posterity's sake).

This will be a short PbP adventure taking place in the desert regions of the Tablelands, generally away from the major caravan routes.

Character Creation
PHB, DMG, Sandstorm, all Athas.org material. Material will still need to be approved so it fits the setting, with the Dark Sun campaign setting books taking precedence during material overlap/character creation. If anyone needs the DS material from Athas.org, just ask, I've got all of it.
Allowed classes will be Fighter, Gladiator, Ranger, Wizard (Preserver/Defiler), Psion, Rogue, Athasian Bard, Cleric, Templar, Druid. Those are the original classes from the DS 2e campaign setting. Also, all those who are not casters (ie, Fighter, Gladiator, Ranger, Rogue, Athasian Bard) will start with a free Hidden Talent feat if they want it. Or can choose to trade in the Hidden Talent feat for a -1 to the LA of their race (Aarakocra, Mul, Halfgiant, Thri-Kreen).
No flaws/traits.
28 PB.
Starting level 4.

Note that buying a lot of goods in Dark Sun is expensive (there's almost no metal available) and so there are inferior item and cost adjustment rules that apply in the DS3 rulebook.

4 players max, with GeniusSavant and PhaedrusXY having spots as a Shaper (Psion) and Cleric respectively. Players will need to come up with an IC reason why the four of them are together and away from the main caravan routes.

We'll be using this forum for the game.

OK... so while having a mekillot skeleton with a war howda is totally doable mechanically, I'm guessing that would be a bit much?

If you're OK with that though, I'm pretty excited about it.

Edit: Also, since some spells call for powdered silver in the material components, that means we either need to rework those, or they will become uncastable in Darksun... I don't remember seeing this addressed in the athas material, but that's probably because they didn't think of it.

Here's the text from the ACF guide on the boards:

Fangshields Ranger Substitution Levels (CV, p 41): nonhumanoid, add Diplomacy
2nd level: Combat Style (Multiattack or Improved Natural Attack (single natural weapon), Weapon Focus (any natural weapon), Weapon Focus (any other natural weapon), or Greater Weapon Focus (single natural weapon))
4th level: Animal Companion (as druid of 1/2 ranger level +2)
5th level: Lion and the Unicorn (+1 sacred bonus to AC during day or night), replaces favored enemy

You can... but it won't be that useful this adventure past the initial stages. As a warning.

For the silver, treat as a rare powdered bone that costs the same.

So you'd have Multiattack (TK have more than one natural attack) and a better animal companion in place of a single combat style feat?

You'd be a Thri-Kreen Ranger 3/LA 1 (I'm assuming you'd want the -1 LA instead of hidden talent)? Not a problem.

Yep, I want to reduce the LA and have no need for multi-classing.

Yes.

Maybe? It'll depend on the item. As Phae and Nanshork can tell you, I tend to like limited numbers of magic items and not a Christmas tree effect. 

More concerned with the players having a good reason for ending up in the desert together, rather than where they're from. One shot and all.

Thinking he got lost in the desert and seeked shelter from the brutal sun in the entrance to the adventure. From there he meets the other two. Unless you want then to be together beforehand?

Any rules in play for psionic minor creation other than what's stated in the power? I don't think I'll use the mass creation of poisons.

You'd need to be together out in the desert before finding this place. Getting to it isn't easy.

Mostly don't abuse it or a rust monster comes and eats all your gear.
